Suggestion: Hrothgar/Viera Headgear Community Vote

Hope I put this in the right spot.

My suggestion is essentially just as the title says: I'd like for SE to put together some sort of official forum to get a better understanding of what the community would most want to see as viewable headgear for the new races. I'm not sure how clear they were with making new/existing headgear available in the future, but if it is something they're working on, itd be nice to be able to provide user feedback so they could get a better sense of high priority items to start with.

I think getting all the AF pieces to work for everyone should be pretty high on the priority list.

How about they get treated like the other races and visible equipment is just y'know... visible on them? I get that it's a lot of work, but it was their decision to release two new races. No one forced them to do that.

I agree. But they released how they released. Thus the reasonable suggestion to move forward.

Is there an official statement on whether the new races will be able to wear unlockable hairstyles in the future? I've paid money for certain Mog Station hairstyles and I can't wear them. I really like my Viera, but I feel like i've wasted about $50 for no reason (this was before they updated the mog station text). I'm really considering changing race because of the money and gil I've wasted, but I'm kinda tired of the old races tbh. Maybe I'll go male :P

With the Mog sale going on, I REALLY don't want to buy any glam outfits because I know a lot of the things I want (I like headgear okay) I can't even equip. I think Mog items, AF gear, Raid gear, and seasonal gear should have been top priority when making headgear work. Not saying I don't appreciate those who put their own time into making ANY headgear work at all, I really really do thank those guys. But honestly Viera should have been pushed back to the next Expac if they already started making Hrothgar. They would have had so much more time and resources to making Hroth look amazing and work with everything, and then again for Viera in a couple years, instead of dividing their attention and making two unfinished races.

I know they wanted this expac to be the "last expansion with a new race", but I feel (as someone who knows only a little bit about game development) that spreading the workload over 3-4 years instead of 1-2 years would have been better for them, no?

In response to the original message, I think a section of the forum where players could vote/suggest on what headgear they would like to see is a great idea.

No, there is no official statement other than in the QA where they said they were going to give Viera more racial hairstyles instead of the old ones. There's been no news at all about Hrothgar. If they do find the time to add in more headgear they need to do a better job than what they did with the Krile hood.

I get that there is an issue with making all old headgear viewable on the new models. I get that it takes a lot of time and resources.

But at the same time, I think it's unacceptable that new headgear items are not able to be equipped on them.

The Hrothgar heads and Viera ears are SO different from what they have ever done before.

And honestly they really haven't done Elezen helmets well at all.
