Companions Defender Stance wont work

I have a companion that is rank 13 and defender rank 7, Healer rank 10. When I play stuff like fates where you kill a big monster they cant keep up. I have my companion set to the defender stance and I do so much dps that they can't get a Hold on the argo. This system is out of date and needs a rework like the Titan Egi. If they gave the bird a Tank stance or something that would help. There are several way this can be changed.

The Companion is such an outdated feature of this game, I really hope they overwork it and especially its braindead A.I which keeps an standing in every single stupid AoE to face eat every damage, instead of moving its virtual ass out of the danger zone, like the much better AI of Trust does.


So what would be best to do to improve this feature?

- Change the Companion into a Trust NPC which we can take with us into Dungeons basically as Allrounder just like the Crystal Exarch was and bring the Exarch back as h, his true self at the time when he was a Bard
- Update the dumb AI with the step above
- Companions level now up automatically with the highest level of a job from our characters, no Level 20 Limit anymore
- Companions learn now alot more Skills
- Companions grow now on Level 80 larger and enable this way Tandem Riding
- New Types of Companions should get added, like a King Couerl, basically the CE Coerls, just with different look, new adde companions start first with a small selection of Companion Gear, until more gets added from old content themes, for those that dont like Chocobos

It needs work but trust npc is too far. They said that having a Companion in a dungeon throws off the whole thing. Also add another thing to lode in. Imagine if everyone had a Companion in eureka. Plus your the owner of the Companion so you should be picking its skills but new modern skills would help.

I would like the Chocobo to get an update, some skills are a bit out of date, especially the accuracy traits.

Taking him on Squad/Trust runs would be a nice bonus as well.

Some? All of them, within the last 360 das hasn't changed anything on them, and I doubt that ever something has been changed on this feature for it's whole existance.

It’ s ridiculous when you want to tank something with your companion and everything you can do is like double so good than what that silly bird can do, while having also significantly much lesser health than you

What needs to be done to correct this is to give Companion Gear also Stats, which change based on the role you commen between two modes, offensive support and defensive support, that is there for PvE content outside of instances.
As trust npc would work like said the Companion exactly like the Crystal Exarch, as Allrounder being always the role that is missing

Then can a companion throw of anything at all the, they need to have just more Skills to be same as effective like the playable jobs, while the companion is used as trust member for the dungeon.
Am not proposing that they should get more skills for outside of dungeons, even if that would be cool as well too, but it is more important for them for dungeons only, anything else would be only unneccessary work

What about the Companion food? That would boost them in a stat. It was meant to help them focus on a cretin style. No that not perfect but it is something

One final point. They did increase the pet tanking actions so if they have a heal they can tank a bit now

Unfortunately the enmity still sucks. A max rank chicken can't keep enmity off of my WAR with Defiance off. Not sure if this is already the case, but I wonder if getting a bonus based on the owner's ilevel would help.
