Sorry if I should’ve posted this in DPS roles, seems more like a general thing and I couldn’t seem to find a fashion specific board
All samurai attire seems to be cloth, do you know where I could find metal armour of some sort?

The Deltascape sets are Samurai armor, including the Samurai class. Though personally I'm not that fond of the actual SAM set since it's asymmetrical.

Well, it's a normal 8 man raid, to get the chest piece you'd need 4 shafts which admittedly are not hard to come by after Shadowbringers since no one cares about the item lvl anymore. You just need to run Deltascape V4 about 4-6 times. To get the whole set would require doing Deltascape 1 thru 4 repeatedly to get all the gear components to trade in. The set is only dyeable if you do extreme.
If your just looking to have metal, there's the Marid Leather Coat of Striking, the level 66 crafted set.

And there's the Chimerical felt cyclas of striking, the level 58 crafted set.

Really, just checking the MB should show you all this.
it would be cool if we could get a ronin set or something like that for job gear.

this is what i normally use for NIN/SAM if your after something more armored
Replica Allagan top and feet
and Doman arms lvl 66
easily gotten from Vendor and MB
something more traditional samuari is pretty limited
From what I understand Yoshi actually explained during an interview when Stormblood was first launched that the lack of metal armour for SAM was a deliberate design choice - they wanted SAM's design to be more a ronin-look rather than an armoured soldier with a katana, hence the emphasis on robes and yukata. So accordingly you have to think outside the um.. square... if you want more of an armoured look for your SAM.
An example is my own SAM glamour:

Head is the Usagi Kabuto from an old New Year's event, the body is Legacy Warrior Mail (from a past Rising event) and the rest (hands, legs and feet) is Iroha's FFXI event gear (Amatsu Tekko, Amatsu Haidate and Amatsu Sune-ate respectively).
I admit it's all special event gear, but as far as I understand they can still be bought on the Mogstation.
