Fix the housing lottery

Right now as It sits the housing system is a terrible lottery system that encourages the use of a bot. With no information about how long a housing plot will take it feel like a waste of time to try and fight people for a house for hours. I've tried 3 times wasting over 30 hours. No one has that time to waste.
One example of a better system would be to do a lottery. Let us by a ticket in and the losers get all or most of their money back while the winner pays the full price of the house.
24 hours would give everyone who wants a chance to enter. Limit the ability to enter for one house at a time. that's already a much better system as no one is wasting time.

A lottery doesn't solve the core problem - lack of housing to meet player demand. You're not going to be any happier when you still don't end up with a house because someone else won it.

Wouldn't you rather have SE spending their time on fixing the core problem instead of wasting that time on programming a new system that's still going to leave players unhappy because they still don't have a house?

In the meantime, don't try fighting people for hours. Show up, click the placard and see if you get lucky. If you don't, do other things then go back later to try again. Maybe RNG will be on your side and you'll show at at the right instant to claim the plot. Regardless of the outcome, at least you'll be enjoying the rest of the game.
