New to game loving it so far

Hello all I am new to the game and thought I'd introduce myself I come from SWTOR and Black Desert Online. I have been a fan since FFVII and have since played almost all the others except IX. Anyway after playing this so far I wonder where has this game been all my life lol.

I had played FFXI back in the day had some good memories there if a bit more difficult than this one. I hope to make some good memories on here and must say it feels refreshing after having played the previously stated MMOs.

I love it I am not even level 50 yet so I know I have not experienced much yet but I am enjoying it and look forward to what is in store. Love that they have the Gold Saucer with it's same theme from FFVII but remastered. Also have to say the community in game has been awesome even in dungeons people gave me tips improve role so thank you to those people :)

Feel a bit overwhelmed by all there is to take in for the first time but I will get there eventually. Anyway enough of my rambling meant to make this short to show my appreciation for the game and it's community lastly to introduce myself.

Welcome! It is really nice to see so many new people the past few days in the "newbie" areas of the game.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. The forums can have a few rude people, but overall we're quite helpful.

Welcome, not to steal your thread but I'm new too and I'm basically in the same boat. :)

Loving it so far, started the game as a Arcanist but (relatively) quickly switched to a melee DPS since that's suits me better. I play everything at a pretty casual pace so I just hit level 30 with my Lancer the other day after a few weeks and it's awesome how I'm always learning something new, finding new places, unlocking new modes/features. My favorite thing has to be the ability to level different jobs all with the same character since I'm not very creative and I really just want to design/name one character and go with it. Now I'm leveling Marauder and working through quests to go Dragoon one day.

People I've played with were also super cool. I've messed up on a few occasions or people kinda asked me to do things and I didn't recognize the acronyms... I play PS4 so typing with the controller is impossible (I've since hooked up one of my wireless keyboards for chatting purposes) so it got awkward at times trying to coordinate with people. But they were cool and I've learned a lot.

Welcome to the game one and all. Hopefully your time here is an enjoyable one. Dreakon said something here that triggered me to wonder if he was potentially looking at an out of date guide. Over the years they have streamlined a lot of the games systems, one of which is the job system. You used to have to level 2 classes and do a quest to upgrade to the "job" version of your class. Now you only have to get your level high enough and do the upgrade quest. So if you were specifically leveling marauder because a guide told you it needed to be 15 to unlock dragoon, that info is out of date. Just do your lancer job quests(up to 30) and the main story quests(theres a trigger quest in the low 20s incase your MSQ got behind - Sylph Management) and youll be good to learn to jump - and the rest of dragooning.

Interesting, it must've been an outdated guide (and outdated forum posts) because Google searching all led me to that same conclusion about getting Marauder to 15.

Though I did get Marauder to 15 last night, and then got far enough in the MSQ to unlock Dragoon. I guess I didn't need to and could've just focused on the story. All's well that ends well though, I suppose. Thanks for the info!
