Steps:
1. Use the Machinist skill Wildfire on any valid target.
2. Use a predetermined number of Weaponskills on the Wildfire target (1-6) while Wildfire is still in effect.
3. Observe the damage Wildfire inflicts when the timer reaches zero.
4. Repeat steps 1 and 2 using the same number of Weaponskills you chose in step 2 to ensure consistent potency.
5. Observe that damage does not vary outside of the natural hit range. This would indicate that the skills does not critical hit or direct hit.

Nothing about the tool tip of skill would indicate that the skill would be unable to critical hit or direct hit.

Not a bug, its intentional

That's fairly odd. Do you know where this was stated to be intentional, or perhaps there is some obvious aspect about the skill itself that I am overlooking?

I think they tried to reduce variation on this move to stop stressing people about losing so much dmg if they have bad luck. So it's fixed potency per wpnskill and no crit chance instead of compiling dmg.

Yeah, it's fixed potency per weapon skill which gives it 1,200 potency after six hits. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be affected by direct hit or critical hit, though. It's not really that different from any other job's high-potency skills like Technical Step, Kaeshi: Setsugekka, or Xenoglossy.
