GNB secondary stats for materia

So even with the BiS gear for a GNB, I notice our d.hit is still fairly low with it socketed in. I know we want comfy skill speed, crit, but after that... I've debated what I should even socket in.

Tenacity gets memed on but simultaneously proves useful to make yourself not super squishy earlier on.

Determination boosts your attack and makes it a nicer time with healers as well as your Aurora prolly.

Then of course d.hit because mooar dmg on top of your crit rate.

My issue here is that wouldn't determination be more helpful to boost the power of the supposed crits you would get? Does it scale high enough? Or how about tenacity that not only boosts your defensive power, but your attack as well? Wouldn't the mitigation and strength increase outweigh the "chance to mini crit" that d.hit provides when our d.hit doesn't even touch 1600 or anywhere close?

What are your thoughts because idk how exactly to socket this time, it used to be straight forward, socket crit then d.hit and done.

theres a big debate about both Dhit and Ten.

Honestlly i jsut get my Skill speed to 1550 then stack crit then det Its been working great so far :)

Tenacity does not offer any significant difference to your damage taken (your healers will not notice if you have full Tenacity melds or none), and I think Determination only boosts healing you do, not the healing you receive (at least it wasn't mentioned in the 5.0 stat explanations from testers). Because you can't really affect your tankiness in any significant number with melds (and you don't really need more than you get from having the proper item level and using your cooldowns correctly), it is recommended to go for DPS instead, and Direct Hit is currently the best stat for that.

Even so, considering how high our determination is over our d.hit, and that det increases our dmg too. Wouldn't it be smarter to use more det for higher crits than just mroe RNG higher mini crits from a very low d.hit stat?

A flat addition to all damage dealt eh? Welp, I guess that decides it then. Even with such low d.hit then you'd still be better off with d.hit just based off how it scales and multiplies I guess.

I would rather focus on determination than DH.

Direct hit does not work on your heals, Det does, and with DET you could basically play all tank jobs without losing anything.
Also its 5.6% vs 6.0%, only 0.4% lower.

Yeah but are tank heals really that great to be worth the boost? Assuming it doesnt affect how much you're healed for by healers and etc?

The other thing to consider is that, DH is a RNG factor which have a high chances of simply just not working.
DET gives a steady DPS growth in every hit you do, also determination does scale with both of them, the more determination you have the stronger D hits and crits you do.

I thought about that too. What's the det to damage rate though? As in not counting the crits and d.hit, how much does 1 determination equate to compared to strength or another stat? Say you're dealing a 100 potency attack of 1000, how much would det increase that for just one point for example?
