[IMAGE HEAVY] Companion App Issue - Unable to Use
Hello! I emailed once about this issue a long time ago, but the issue was not resolved, and no subsequent patches for the app have changed anything, so I wanted to try again. I'm aware that this forum is for game issues rather than app issues, but the only board I see pertaining to the app directly is a suggestion board, so I honestly wasn't sure where to put this. If I missed the right board, please let me know and I would be happy to move this!
Tl;dr - Every time I launch the app, I'm told that a 7mb update needs to install. Nothing happens no matter how long I wait, until eventually the process times out. I have attempted to uninstall and reinstall the app multiple times, both before and after restarting my phone, but I continue to experience this issue. I have not been able to use the app since shortly after it's initial release.
The Long Version:
My phone is a Galaxy S8, running Android Version 9.
I have a stable internet connection. I'm putting that out there right now because when I was initially emailing support and asked for help, I was told to ensure I had a stable connection. I did, emailed again and said that my connection wasn't the issue, and then....was told to make sure I had a stable connection. So! Just gonna establish right now that this is not the issue. Clearly something else is! It's probably even my fault! But it isn't my connection.
Here's what happens when I try to install and use the app:

I go to the Google store and install it, no issues there.

I can accept the license agreement and start the app without issue.

I can get all logged in and select my character - no problems there!

Then it tells me I need an update...

...and this is where I get stuck. After about half an hour, the process timed out and told me that the data was corrupted and to download it again, which starts the process over from the "An update is required to continue using the app" step.
What can I do from here? I've tried to go through my phone and delete all data connected to the app before reinstalling, but I don't know if I'm missing something or what. Any suggestions for next steps would be great.
