Just wondering if anyone else has been seeing the same Issue as me?
I have been gathering for about an Hour now and haven't had a single proc. I have 8 gathering abilities set.
Fingerprints of Gods
King's Yield
Sweat of Brow
Master of Rock
Master of Timber
Master of Fish
Earthen Favor
Stroke of luck
yes .. i have that too lot.
tho after a while i will get them ... sometimes .
finger print of the gods has only triggered for me 3 times since release of the patch.
also have the idea if you change a lot for instance between mining and botany.. it gets a reset . i notice that if i mine a hour.. sometimes an ability kicks in.. i notice if i change a lot between botany and mining that no abilities will kick in at all
Fingerprint of the Gods? the catalyst one? that only work in set areas. are you in one of those areas?
Didt know those areas were set. and ofc no clue where those are lol
doesnt realy matter tho , need to be about max level crafting to craft any materia anyway.. so gonna take a few months if not years before i can attach materia to any of my armor /weap pieces :P

I too think the rate at which abilities activate is to small, SE should definetly increase them.
I have had no issue with with skills, but when fishing I can get 4-5 times in a row where nothing bites, it wasn't this way prior to 1.21.
To be honest you shouldn't even miss a bite in a school of fish, Miners and Botanist don't suffer this issue ?
I can fully understand this happening when not fishing in a school of fish though.
Yeah, I mined for 3 hours last night and I didn't get a single ability to Proc. It wasn't just Fingerprints of the Gods, it was every skill. Not a single one kicked in once.
The truly sad part is, it took me an hour notice. =/
Also, I was in Iron Lake, so FotG should have Proced.
That's odd, perhaps it's the grade 5 nodes but at Grade 3/4 I've noticed no problem with abilities activating at 48 Botanist. You could try adding STR/INT gear to your equipment, granted none of the help text seems to suggest that there are any stats that effect activation rate of abilities Maybe the STR "ease of botany" may suggest ability activation rate since the rate seems pretty high at 3/4 nodes but I will keep an eye out once I log in a Grade 5 area.
But ya I"d say play around with stats for "Activation rate" try STR for Botanist, DEX for fishing and VIT for Mining.
