Yet Another DirectX Crashing Thread

I posted in another thread and intended to add this to that, but you closed it.

I have been having this issue since the launch of Shadowbringers. It does not happen with any other game. I see many people saying it happens randomly while playing, but for me, it ONLY happens during Shadowbringers instanced content and it ONLY happens when there is a big move with a lot of effects going on/off. It does not happen every time, but it usually happens during the same moves. The variation could be due to players also using large, effect heavy moves/abilities at the same time as the boss. It has not happened during normal pulls in dungeons. It has only happened during boss fights whether that be in dungeons or raids and, again, it only happens during the big moves.

The problem went away when Nvidia driver 431.60 came out, but after last nights patch/maintenance it is back. I've already tried all of the suggestions offered here moderators and many suggestions offered by users and nothing has worked.

I use no overlays and no programs are running in the background. The only updates that have been made to my PC are standard windows updates and regularly updating my graphics card driver in hopes of remedying this issue. I rolled back the windows updates several times hoping it would help but it did not. Everything else in my PC is exactly the same as it has been since I got it in the summer of 2015. As I said, this started as soon as early access for Shadowbringers did and only happens in the instances I described.

Do you have any part of your PC overclocked? If so, revert these to their standard clock speeds. Additionally, double-check that nothing is overheating on your PC.

If you have not tried it already, set the Windows compatibility to Windows 7. Right-click on the ffxivboot.exe file and select ‘Properties.’ Then select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and choose Windows 7.

You may also want to try a reinstall of the game. When you do, make sure to remove the locally-saved data folder (located My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Be sure to make a backup of this just in case it doesn't resolve the issue.
