Does a MUST DO quest checklist exist?

So I just started playing again. Left off right before heavensward. So pretty much started from level 50 and just grinding my way through the MSQ. Is there a list of must do quests on the way to 80? Things you guys did during each of the expansions that are important still? For example, I found out about moogle trive yesterday and that entire side quest story line to help raise crafts from 50 to 60 alot easier. Is there other things like this that I shouldnt be bypassing just to hit level 80 asap? Thanks.

There is no running list I dont think, but any quest that unlocks something new will have a blue icon. These would be things you want to do as soon as possible, I believe beast tribes are included in these.

MSQ, job quests and "blue icon" quests are your priorities. If you skipped to story Lv50 then a lot of the dungeon-unlock sidequests will have been cleared already for you, but any remaining quests with blue icons will be important to some extent.

For gameplay purposes, have you:
- unlocked the challenge log? (sidequest from the Drowning Wench tavern in Limsa)
- got your chocobo as a battle partner? (Camp Tranquil in South Shroud)

For story, make sure you do the optional Lv50 Crystal Tower raids starting near the aetheryte plaza at Revenant's Toll, as this ties into Shadowbringers' plot. The Warring Triad and Alexander raids at Lv60 and Omega at Lv70 are worthwhile too.

Don't rush to Lv80 just for the sake of being Lv80 though. You won't unlock anything until you reach certain points in the MSQ - specifically completing Shadowbringers to have any access to endgame content.

Yes. Did everything up to level 50 that was important. And thank you. So every npc w blue icon is a must. Sweet. Glad they implemented that feature.

Aside from doing all the blue quests asap, go aether current hunting in every region as fast as possible. Though the MSQ itself guides you through the regions nicely, not being able to fly is a royal pain in the butt for gatherers.

If you're into relics, you can do that as a sideline. Both ARR and HW require a good deal of poetics for some stages and you'll likely cap them multiple times before hitting 80, so it's a good poetic dump. Once at 80 you'll likely want to spent them on different things than old relics.


But I think that's about it, everything else has been mentioned.

Yes i tried gathering being reading a guide to do msq to get the currents first lmao. Was a pain n the butt for a day or two before reading on that.

Not really.

What I did on returning to this game during late Heavensward was hit up the consolegameswiki ffxiv website for it’s list of dungeons, raids, and trials and work backwards to do all the unlocks for them. Those list are missing map dungeons and dungeons from things like Manderville. But it gets most things unlocked.

There is one quest chain that has a blue icon that is nigh endless. I won't spoil it, though. >:)
