what is wrong with this assist macro?

This macro works mostly but sometimes it cycles through then loses target completely.
/targetenemy targets 1st on agro list
/assist <2> targets tanks target
/ta <attack5> targets 5th priority target
/ta <attack4> 4th
/ta <attack3> 3rd
/ta <attack2> 2nd
/ta <attack1> 1st

Is it too much? I think the attack# is whats messing me up cause it only seems to fail when the tank does use priority marking, and I cant find documentation on it. But the post that recommended it seemed pretty real. Is it valid or should I just delete those lines?

I think what you're trying to do here is create a priority system for targeting within a macro. I'm sorry to say you just can't do that. A macro like this will execute each command in sequence. That's why it's cycling through targets like that.

Ok, I went out on my own outside of a party and in a low level area, and marked a few mobs - and its working now. I can even watch as it cycles through each target ending at #1. Not sure whats going on in the dungeons. Kind of hard to piece it together in the midst of the action.

The order they're in (with the higher priorities further down the list) suggests that's intended. It's supposed to cycle through each of them, or rather each one that exists, in order to end up on the last one that exists. It seems like it should work.

Could it occasionally be making you target enemy #1 an instant before someone else in your party kills enemy #1 (or whichever one it ended up on)? That might end up making it look like it ended up on nothing targeted. It's also a scenario you wouldn't have seen in solo testing.

Im 98% sure thats not whats happening as tanks typically only use mark on boss events where adds dont die all that quickly. But Ill keep an eye out next time it happens.
