Asking Yoshida to address crafting’s absurd easy difficulty...Live Letter?

Does anyone know when the next Live Letter occurs? I believe those of us who would like challenging crafting (and challenging rewards for the crafting, such as good gear) should be paid attention to now. As we have been neglected for the entirety of 4.0. And now 5.0 too apparently.

The Ishgard stuff does not look promising, so we are not going to put our faith in something like that. And even if the recipes are challenging, the rewards are useless. We were told they are “Titles” and some sort of glamour tools. Both of which are useless to a crafter’s arsenal. Rewards should be high stat, exclusive, rewarding gear/tools. It’s a good way to reward players who actually spent the time and effort to grind difficult recipes. By giving us titles and glamour tools, you aren’t giving people a very good incentive to compete. Not everyone is interested in a new housing plot. Just challenging and rewarding content.

I’ve already made a thread addressing why crafting is too easy and why it needs to be changed, so I won’t discuss that here. My question is, the next live letter....when is it?

I would love to know Yoshida’s reasoning for completely deviating from what crafting was intended to be back in ARR and HW. And if he ever plans on catering to hardcore/hard working crafters ever again, that’s great. But be sure to cater to both casual and hardcore players at once.

Prioritizing one over the other is my main issue with these last 2.5 years of FFXIV. Both types players play FFXIV, we shouldn’t demonize one because they prefer challenging content.

Ishgarde isn't here yet. Mastercrafts aren't here yet. We literally have the base kit for the entire expansion. You're making assertions about things that haven't even happened yet.... on TWO threads now. Yoshi has ALWAYS been vague when it comes to rewards in this game. Saying "Titles and some sort of glamour reward" could be an addition to other things we'll be getting for participating. The truth of the matter is we don't know yet. You can take past expansions as examples all you'd like, but they've never released an Ishgarde-type event for crafters only, so any assumptions you're making are completely premature and unfounded. At least wait for the content before you light your fuse.

I can assure you, mate, that if the Reconstruction turns out to be a flop, there will be many individuals rushing this forum to let SE know. You will not be alone in the endeavor! Happy crafting, fellow adventurer.

The Reconstruction is already doomed to be a flop due to the prevalence of bots.

I still doubt they'll actually respond to a mass outcry over the top rankings being monopolized by cheaters, though.

Ty for saying this. I see so many people complaining it’s to easy, we literally only have the easy recipes right now, so of course it’s easy.

“Ishgard stuff does not look promising” ????????????????????????? Did you get a special look at it? Do any of us really know what the rewards will be? We have seen nothing. Just words from yoshi p. As ^^ they said, we really have no idea yet.

I think you could get around this with an unlimited quality bar for the crafting in question. Your place on the leaderboard wouldn't be based on quantity contribution but quality. This creates an inverse to the scenario that crafting usually follows.

The aim would be to extend the craft as long as possible in order to fit in as many quality increases as possible while still being able to finish the progress bar. Botting wouldn't be very effective there. CP efficiency becomes a bigger concern, and limitations that bar certain actions that shift around ensure you have a variety of crafting conditions so that you approach each week must also differ.

I think there's potential, but they also do like taking the easy way out.

You're complaining about current crafting being way too easy. You're also asking for "Rewards should be high stat, exclusive, rewarding gear/tools" from the Restoration of Ishgard.
You realise that those kind of rewards would actually make crafting even easier for you, right? Are you expecting SE to balance crafting around those "high stat, exclusive, rewarding gear/tools"?

And do you realize Square Enix can simply make more challenging recipes even after you have received those gear pieces? Without high stat gear pieces, it doesn’t motivate many crafters to even do Ishgard as the compensation will be poor. Please don’t be so narrow minded, because not everything has to end at one destination. It can continue to keep progressing.
