DF group memberassumptions

I'm kinda curious as to what peoples general assumptions are for the level of experience the other members of the party have for any given dungeon when they queue up in the Duty Finder.

The reason I'm curious is I do get the vibe thanks to threads like the Tales from the DF thread seems to give off the vibe that the assumptions are all over the place, from knowing the entirety of the game like the back of your hand, to just knowing your class, to even having a DeLorean learn future content.

Personally, while I approach new content like I'll be the newbiest person in it, I also go in with the assumption of being lumped with Day 0 players of any class on their first time in a dungeon until proven otherwise.

I basically assume it'll be subpar. And more often than not it is. It isn't uncommon to have a good player in your party. Pretty rare to get a full party of good players. It doesn't make things any less fun for me, it's just something I noticed.

The only exception is when I'm an early starter (right after a patch hits) people who get through the content fast tend to be experienced players. If you made it to 80 on day 2 you essentially spent your time sharing party with people who had cleared ultimate fights and knew the game and their classes well. It's often like that, the first few hour clear parties for anything are usually pretty decent. Everything goes downhill from there.

As long as no one says " my 1st time", i assume people have been there and have an idea of the fights/mechanics(for everything older then 2-3 weeks). As soon as someone says its his 1st run, i lower my expectations (not that they are very high...) and am prepared to not rush the dungeon and maybe wipe a few times. Usually i dont explain boss mechanics for 1st time runners, i try to avoid of robing them of the chance to learn by themselves (blind run and learning by trial), only if i see we wipe 5times on the same mechanic and they want me to explain it, then I'll do.

My expectations :
Tank - use cd's to mitigate dmg.
Heal - heal (with cd's, dont just save them) and if there is time for it, please do "some"dps.
Dps - please aoe on 3+ mobs
All - whoever is new, just let us know so we can lower our expectations.

I go in with low expectations. I try to be helpful if someone is genuinely new, but if nothing is said I just assume that they know their stuff. If not I provide a summary most times.

I assume they have a basic idea how to use their class properly and more or less know the mechanics of the bosses unless i'm told otherwise, and also that their not a rude arsehole, my standards aren't high.

Don't be afk (bio breaks and such are fine, just don't afk the whole thing).
Don't be a bot.
Don't be a dick.

Pretty simple really.

I pull everything and find out.

I assume that anyone with the RP tag will be bad, anyone with the same last names will probably be bad (though there are some exceptions), and that most DPS will be lacking.

I have no expectations, really. I certainly hope that the tank will pull a minimum of two packs at a time (preferably wall to wall in most cases) and people don't repeatedly die to the same thing.

Oh, but I will always tell people to use Return after the second boss in Haukke Manor if I see any sprouts.
