New to mining

I just got my miner to level 50 and am trying to mine Grade 3 Thanalan topsoil, but I’m not 100% sure what to do. I know to look for the unspoiled node in Western Thanalan and that it’s on a timer, but I’m not sure what to do after that. 1 specific question is, does anyone know which slot it is in the node? Other than that, is there anything else I should do or know for the process. Thank you for any help, I am grateful.

It's in slot 8. You got a new skill with a strange description at 50, "Toil of the Mountaineer." It shows you all 8 slots for 300 GP, without using any swings.
