Gold Chocobo Feathers

Hi , recently i returned to the game after not playing for a long time. Turns out i had 10 gold chocobo feathers in my bag that i did not know about , i guess i got these for transferring to twintania. As i was doing botany there is a chocobo feather icon that looks the same and i just discarded them without reading what it was . Turns out because it was "probably" over 20 days ago noone will help or look into restoring it for me.

1. why cant gold feathers go into the currency tab to prevent idiots like me doing things like this?

2. Can you really not upgrade your item restoration system to be more like world of warcrafts , honestly i can just restore an item i discarded years ago as it shows a list of things i threw out. As your seemingly doing well as a company im sure you can invest some of the sub money into upgrading your tools.

Anyway this has been a massive de-motivator for me to play now as i just came from warcraft hoping to try out shadowbringers, but not being able to get ANY support on this is kind of sad and now i feel i should just stick to warcraft where support is easily obtainable .

you could use your one time restoration request on them to get them back? but just pay more attention in future.

From memory, the feathers get mailed to you when you earn them, at least from recruit-a-friend rewards - which would be why they exist as items rather than currency.

i tried the item restoration , they said because i said it was "sometime within the month" i dont know , they cant help me. I ended up replying 3 times asking if they can at least check the logs and they said they cant because its "probably" over 20 days. Basically they didnt even check even on my request which is why im super annoyed about it . my last reply says

"unfortunatly without an approximate date and time we are unable to investigate this" . Which tells me they cant be bothered to even check , even though when you go to do an item restoration it says "it could take days to weeks to investigate" . Id rather them investigate than just give me a "we didnt even attempt" answer.

So, are you saying that you threw away the Gold feathers but did not realize this until long afterwards and don't know when you threw them away? Then I would be curious how you eventually found out you had discarded them.
Or did you just wait a few weeks after discarding the feathers before contacting support? I hope not, because that would have been plain stupid.

Otherwise you ought to know when you discarded the feathers, and included that information in your support request.

i only knew i discarded them because i remember doing it when i realised my partner had 10 gold chocobo feathers as i helped her sort her retainers 2 days ago, i only just came back to the game when twintania came so its within that time. Not everyone plays ff14 as their main game and there is an insane amount of items compared to wow when it comes to inventory management. Also i have 9 retainers so i wanted to clear them all out before starting again. A message popped up saying it was unique item and i just clicked away anyway, mistakes happen . We cant all be perfect,.
