Hey guys, i'm having a bit of trouble figuring out what i'm supposed to be doing as a SCH. On bosses i'm fine for the most part but on trash pulls i can barely keep the tank alive, the fairy doesn't seem to be helping much only healing for just over 2k most of the time with Embrace, the shields i put on the tank last for 1 attack.
I'm sure i'm doing something wrong but i just can't figure it out if you guys can throw me a few tips and tricks i would be grateful.

As is typical at the start of the expansion the fairy is nerfed to near worthless, and she won't improve until your gear does (pets scale well with ilvl, so they nerf embrace at the start of every expansion).
Your dungeon role early on is simple. Since it's early and few have decent gear, take note of the size of the pull. If you don't know the tank, then if there are five enemies or more play conservatively, especially if there's more in which case you might need to spam heals. Excog the tank, and use Art of War until Excog goes off. If the tank isn't dropping like a sack of wet paper, then use lustrate + whispering dawn while continuing to Art of War. Use Lucid Dreaming when your MP hits half. Feel free to adlo the tank if you want a breather, and don't be afraid to use recitation-adlo when you get it. You can also hit each target with biolysis if you want, which can help conserve mana.
If at any point in time it looks like your tank is taking too much damage, then adlo and physick as the situation requires. If your party members are also goofballs who stand in fire, then save a stack for indom. Feel free to Art of War while you have aetherize charges and excog/lustrate while spamming, but if you're out of charges don't be afraid to throw some adlos. Also use Fey Union on large pulls, but make sure you support heal, as it's too weak currently to leave it to the fairy unless you and your tank are geared. -

From a quick character search on the Lodestone, it looks like you've still got ilvl 385 gear equipped (though that may not have updated recently); you might want to upgrade your gear. Holminster Switch - the level 71 dungeon - drops ilvl 390 gear, and if you've got a bunch of Poetic Tomestones lying around, you can pick up Scaevan gear from Rhalgr's Reach and augment it with Scaevan Ester/Twine/Shellac (for Weapon/Armor/Accessories, respectively) by talking to the vendors there to get ivl 400 gear, which is equivalent to the gear you can get in Dohn Mheg, the level 73 dungeon. Focus on upgrading your weapon in particular - that dramatically affects how much you can heal for.

I'd like to add: Emergency Tactics is your best friend. It has a 15 second duration and a 15 second recast, so you never lose a use of it. Weaving it after Art of War will let you Adlo -> Adlo for a huge heal and shield without clipping your GCD.
Next level, you'll have Recitation, which will be extremely important. Don't be shy about using it. It's mostly used to give you a free Excog or a crit Adlo. -

You can heal the tank as he pulls. Avoid using your Aetherflow abilities because you'll want them for the burst when the group gathers around the tank. You want to time an adlo when the tank is about to settle on a spot to tank the group. Later this becomes a Recitation Adlo which will give you quite a bit of time. This should somewhat help with the initial burst.
Unupgraded Soil is not the best thing in the world but on large pulls it will do more than a Lustrate. Get used to dropping Soil anyway because once you get the trait, you'll be doing it every pull. Your fairy abilities help too. Whispering Dawn is on 60 seconds and it's a free regen.
The fairy itself does not do as much as it used to, so don't be afraid to Dissipate for stacks. Even if you're not having trouble, you should Dissipate anyway at the end of the pull. It will be a while until the tank pulls the next group and you get free Aetherflow.
If the tank is undergeared, they probably shouldn't be pulling wall to wall. Some tanks can with good cooldown usage, but if it's one of those tanks that blow their cooldown load at the beginning , they'll just 100-0 in the span of 1 GCD once their mitigation wears off.
Alot depends on the tank, really. Generally, you shouldn't have too much trouble. -

Believe it or not, Its the other 3 who may be failing.
In a lot of the trash packs in there, Theres a Fuath mob that has a long cast spell when you get near the pack. If he completes it, It gives a fairly large Damage UP buff to whatever he was casting it on.
If he gets that on the big basket things, they have a kind of tank buster punch. Unbuffed, it hits hard enough to notice it, but not hard enough to threaten the Tank. Buffed though … It starts chunking the Tank for 30-40k. Combined with the other mobs also beating the Tanks face in, it makes things unreasonable awful quick.
So next time you're running it, Make a point of telling the party to stun/interrupt that thing before starting AoEs.
Only time I've ever lost a Tank on trash in there is when they did not stop the buff, pulled 2 of them and had a pair of mobs chunking the Tank.
PS: Theres a trash pack in one of the 80EX Dungeons that has a pair of mobs that do the same thing, and is likewise the only place I've lost a Tank to trash. -

As of patch 5.0 the name of the game for SCH add healing is Lucid Dreaming, Aetherflow, and Aetherpact. First off what I'm about to explain to you is how you keep a person alive, not how to dps or when to dps. When the tank finishes pulling everything and preps for the burst phase you can either go directly into spamming Adlo or use an Excog first.
You should almost never use a recitation on anything else besides Excog when you're healing a add pull. There are two main cool downs you play around, lucid dreaming and aetherflow. Remember before you use aetherflow use adlo on the tank once for a free adlo same applies to lucid, never user it when you're completely full at 10,000. Getting back on track for how to heal big pulls on SCH. Once the tank preps for burst phase you adlo him using the above parameters after you're mana is down to about 9,000 to 8,000 you pop lucid and you just keep spamming adlo the entire 21 seconds until lucid wears off. Adloquium cost the same as a Cure II now and just abusing it should keep the tank mighty healthy. Usually what you'll see is a slight decrease in health as they slowly get through the shield and take like 80-90% of the actual heal before you can apply another. If they're getting twiddled away(which they will be) use whispering dawn, just for the tank and continue spamming adlo. If the mobs are still not dead by the time lucid and whispering wear off this is when things get tricky. This is when you start using recitation+excog on the tank or using dissipation and going straight into 3 lustrates and then into another 3. Though before you reach such a desperate point you should already have used your previous free aether on healing the tank and be close to having another full stack. And even then you always want to deplete your aetherpact completely before you use dissipation unless you absolutely need the immediate healing. I have yet to run into any pull that can get through 21 seconds of aldo spam and a full bar of aetherpact.
When you hit 78 though you'll do the same thing with aldo except you'll start off using sacred soil on CD. As for positioning whispering dawn, just aetherpact the tank and once it connects use whispering. It'll auto cancel aetherpact and put the fairy in range of whispering and even if it doesn't do it in time the tank just gets a tick of aetherpact so it's a win. You can also use this time to use Illumination if you feel the need.
And then you just rince and repeat.
#1. Adlo tank, pop aether, adlo tank, pop lucid, spam adlo til lucid wears off.
#2. Use aetherflow stacks in conjunction with gcd heals while waiting for lucid to get off CD.
With the changes to mana Adloquium is now officially SCH's Cure II and should be treated as such. You see those WHM? When they're healing big pulls they only use Cure II. That's SCH now.
