Are there problems with changing datacenters in char create?

Basically what the title says. For some reason when I go to character create to make an alt I can't get off Aether to go over to Crystal for a preferred world. I just click on the datacenter name and nothing happens. Is this a known issue? Or am I having some kind of weirdness with my system?

Gotta choose the datacenter at the title screen.

Oh! You can't log in as normal and hit character create from there? You have to click data center first and THEN create?
