Wildfire cap

Ok so I need clarification please. For MCH, wildfire has a 5 action cap? I have been getting conflicting information. Some people say there is a cap and 5 is as high as you can go and other say they can almost squeeze in 6. The reason I ask is I can always get 6 100% of the time. The real question is, if I can just do 5 heat blasts and that's it, I rather do that then line up my 6 stack.

You should optimally get 5x Heatblast off, in your HC window, then 1 normal GCD shot into the WF = 6 skills going into WF for the most DPS possible.

So there is no cap to actions? Because I just line up my gauss and ricochet. I easily get those 6 in without hitting heat blast then I just pop a regular attack and I can get 7.

Gauss Round and Ricochet are abilities, not weapon skills. They don't contribute to Wildfire. That's why you would spam Heat Blast, which is a weapon skill with a 1.5 sec recast. Then you can squeeze in one last normal weapon skill.

There's no hard cap on Wildfire that says "no more than x weaponskills," but there's a soft cap determined by the duration of Wildfire vs the GCD of your weaponskills which effectively means there's a limit which could theoretically change if your GCD sped up a lot or the duration of Wildfire was increased. Note that this has to be weaponskills specifically, not abilities so not everything triggers it. If it calls it a weaponskill in the tooltip then it works, and if it calls it something else like an ability then it doesn't.

I'm so sad, this whole time I been lining up things and... all that work and they don't count lol. Well now that I know that.... i will rework everything. That also explains why I thought wildfire was so lack luster.
