i had an idea while on the toilet that was like a timed duty for crafters and gatherers.

so for example you could be on a ship in the ocean about to sink. but as luck would have it you happen to have a group of fishermen able to fish up parts/scrap from the ocean to provide to the crafters who would then take the parts and use them to make parts to repair the ship and stop it from sinking. in order to make this more challenging and encourage job diversity, cross-class skills would not be allowed.

That's not a bad idea. Sounds like it could be interesting. But it would need more than just a field arena with time.

Maybe hazards/a boss that nobody damages but is just supposed to avoid while gathering or use skills to get around. Nodes that aren't up for very long and are in deadly boss attack zones.

D-diadem?

Ishgard restoration?

Hamlet defense???

... I mean, I'd love it if I could get a primal-inspired fishing rod. After all the times my Fishing retainer has pulled up spears, it would be an injoke if I could equip him with Ifrit's Fishing Rod or something like that.
