FF14 Shadowbringers Monk Needs A Fix

I've never contacted you (Devs) except right now because monk needs change
I even use google translation for this one message for love of monk job and the the game itself. I kind a feel lost in the game now cause i feel like my class just got stolen from me and i’m a real buying customer.

I don’t even want to ask why you did to monk but it was a bad decision for monk and for the players itself, not to mention that you removed two of Monk’s really important abilities = Howling Fist & Steel Peak wich made the combat feel fluid and more interesting! I could live with that if ya just would remove one but both?? >:(

Monk repair ideas.

Perfect Balance: recast back to 60 secs or make it 80 secs?

Shoulder Tackle: Grants one stack of GL (No matter what stance ur in)

Six Sided Star: Requires Five stack of Chakra and it’s ofgc with recast of 90 seconds but still will do the same as follows
(This weaponskill does not share a recast timer with any other actions. Upon execution, the recast timer for this action will be applied to all other weaponskills and magic actions)

Now for my another idea you could be interested.

Fist Stances

Fist Of Fire: Increases damage dealt by 10% Cannot be used with Fists of Earth or Fists of Wind, and shares a recast timer with both.
Effect ends upon reuse. Additional Effect: Grants Riddle Of Fire Increases damage dealt by 30% while increasing weaponskill recast time by 15%.
Duration: 20s Recast: 90s

Fist Of Wind: Increases movement speed.
Cannot be used with Fists of Earth or Fists of Fire, and shares a recast timer with both.
Effect ends upon reuse. Additional Effect: Grants Riddle Of Wind wich will give Greased Lighting 4 Duration: 30 sec Recast 60s

Fist Of Earth: Grants Brotherhood and Meditative Brotherhood to all nearby party members.
Brotherhood Effect: Increases physical damage dealt by 5%.
Meditative Brotherhood Effect: 30% chance you open a chakra when party members under this effect execute a weaponskill Recast 90s

These changes would make the player use those fist stances MORE often that ever before and it would be fun and interesting.

By this you can have more space on hotbars and more simple and interesting way using fist stances. Of course by this you will would need to remove RF & RE’s animation but i think it’s a small cost for the justice of monk and your paying loyal players.

There is another way for stances and if ya want to save those two animations!

Example: If ya use Fist of Fire after that the same button changes to riddle of fire and same goes with the fist of earth like on Redmage’s Jolt II is changed to Scorch.

I know you don’t have animation for riddle of wind but that could be adjusted by this =
If you have your purification animation saved on your files, make that as riddle of wind’s animation.

And please for the love of Ff14 bring back howling fist! And consider to make some of these ideas reality.

Oh and when you are in example: Fist Of Fire and have that additional effect Riddle Of Fire the effect would go off if ya change any stances.

I'm not sure about your other ideas. But this one is great! I am very angry at how long it takes to get greased lightning now. When they added the wind tackle change during Stormblood, it made monk sooo much better! Now I feel slow. And broken. Yoshi P! Please make shoulder tackle grant GL again!!!!

Any fix for Monk that keeps the Fist Stances is not a fix at all. The proposed changes here of tying Riddle of Fire back to Fists of Fire and Brotherhood to Earth actively makes the problem of Riddle of Fire’s slow (which the devs know we hate and chose not to fix mind you) worse since it gives you the full slow with nothing to weave during it and keeps the obnoxious RNG and physical comp gating that Brotherhood forces.

The Shoulder Tackle and Perfect Balances changes are fine, but the devs also need to change the function of Tornado Kick to something else because they invite the resurgence of the TK rotation. The reason PB and Tackles got nerfed was for this reason. Why they wouldn’t just change Tornado Kick and keep what was the best Quality of Life monk had ever received in Shadowbringers is mind boggling, but that’s where we are right now.

Frankly Monks’ kit needed major re-evaluation because of how out of date, redundant, anti-fun or anti-synergistic it is, in both Stormblood and Shadowbringers, but it’s not gotten it yet. Worse it’s only getting worse as the devs pile on more stuff to it without fixing core mechanics.
