PS4/Controller Inventory Help

I apologize if this is in the wrong thread. I’m not 100% sure where this kind of question might go. Something has been bothering me since ShB officially released.

I play on a PS4 and have been since I first started playing.
Normally when we want to “use” an item, for example food/minions, we would just press X and then X again to bring up the command for it.

But for the past week or so I’ve noticed that when I try and “use” an item, it will just pick it up and then put it back down. It won’t give any options to it unless I press Square.
I understand the “then just use Square now” thought, but it’s something I’ve been using for years.

Then I thought they changed that option with the release of Shadowbringers, but when I restart my game and come back in, I can use the X->X method again just like before. But after an hour or so it goes right back to just picking it up and putting it back down.

Maybe I’m messing with something I don’t realize for it to keep doing that? If anyone is able to help me with this I’d very much appreciate it.
