Cold boot system freeze
I recently got back into ffxiv. I’m using the same computer I had used previously, but have replaced the harddrive with a solid state samsung and upped from win7 to win10.
My system freezes when several minutes after starting up ffxiv. I manage to get in game and be able to do some things like checking on retainers, then freeze.
This only happens after a cold boot, and only with ffxiv so far. I end up having to manually power off the system, but and when I subsequently boot up,there is no issue.
I haven’t yet tested a cold boot+restart before starting ffxiv, will try later. Though I’m hoping someone else has had and solved a similar issue.
So far, I’ve tried turning off fast boot and changing value of AppXSvc in registry from 3 to 4.

It didn't seem to matter what I was doing, though I was generally either crafting or going through menus. The issue seems to have stopped. After changing that registry value to 4 (based on advice on a windows10 cold boot freezing issue I read about elsewhere). I actually got a BSOD, and was having occasional slow framerate issues. I changed the value back to 3. And have also had some windows update happen. I haven't had the problem since. So it's all good for now
