So, in the wake of removal of useless abilities, I was surely expecting it either be cut off or made scale to int. To my surprise the spell still remains unchanged, what gives?
To be completely fair, one thing that I've noticed actually hint that the Devs WANT it to stay like this: Once I logged into my SMN, I've started to remove the deprecated abilities, but then Physick was still there without the red slash mark, but weirdly "not useable by your class".
Then it clicked, that instance of Physick was probably the SCH one actually!... I've had to open my spellbook and drag another Physick spell to my bars - so apparently they made another instance of the same spell for SMN... yet they kept it scaling to the wrong stat.
Why even bother, then? Could have just ditched the spell.
SMN Physick... still trash for no reason?

Lets hope it stays that way or it gets deleted - SMN doesn't need a heal or any heals for that matter. I'm not sure why the balance team introduced another one for summoner. Summoner has lots of problems that need attending, but physick isn't one of them. It's probably just a small step before they finally detach scholar from summoner somehow in the future. But yeah, not sure why they bothered like you said. It seems like they were already went through 90% of the process of removing scholar from summoner but somehow stopped there.

Honestly now that Physick is split between Arcanist_Physick and Scholar_Physick. I am kinda surprised they didn't make the arcanist varient based on INT. Especially with Arcanist being the original precursor to Scholar and Summoner. It would make more sense for Future scholars to practice with Physick actually being good for when they get their soul crystals.
As for summoners not supposed to heal. Look at red mage and now dancer. They have healing abilities themselves. Sure dancer's is not perfect but they still got them. and redmage is stupid strong for what it is. Why is it such a problem that the original Red healer's healing spell not be somewhat useful. especially now that we have Pheonix's AOE healing. I am more than eager for it. Then again I was the weird one that went to Eureka simply so that i could get those delicious 5 slot equipment that is now utterly useless for what i wanted it for. Rip Mind materia and my 5.5k Physicks. At least if/till they make Arcanist Physick INT based. -

I also had a chunk of mind materia to make Physick almost meaningful, which is now worthless. It is really weird that they bothered to split the spell but didn't fix the scaling to match the class's primary stat, especially since they've removed about every possible avenue for getting non-primary stats.

The fact they have been making it harder to boost it for Summoners is the key reason why Physick has become so useless now. Arcanist also had fairly equal Int to mind back then too. been playing for about 2 and a half years now. i always loved being able to assist the healer when a raid went south suddenly because of a forgotten mechanic. its alot harder to do something similar now that mind is impossible to get onto summoners. Hell before shadowbringers. My mind stat for my summoner was half of scholar because of the eureka gear.Quote:
