dx11 AND dx9 errors!
Hi, I have recently rejoined ffxiv after a 2 year hiatus and have downloaded the game onto my laptop via steam. After logging in through the launcher, I get the following error:
ffxiv_dx11.exe+2EC543
ffxiv_dx11.exe+2EA234
ffxiv_dx11.exe+8D7C8
ffxiv_dx11.exe+5802F
ffxiv_dx11.exe+11A1F6F
KERNEL32.DLL+17974
ntdll.dll+6a271
After reading through the forums, I tried disabling dx11 and playing the game on dx9. This worked ok, untill I tried joining a dungeon, where it would crash with the following error after being put into a group via duty finder:
ffxiv.exe+EB12AC
ffxiv.exe+5B6AB
ffxiv.exe+5A322
ffxiv.exe+58B74
ffxiv.exe+E2BEC4
ffxiv.exe+E2B3C6
ffxiv.exe+E2C821
ffxiv.exe+E2ED37
would love to get help regarding the above issues as I would love to return to the game
Thanks!

This error is caused by the 90fps cap introduced with Shadowbringers. Fortunately, SQe is rolling it back as soon as they can. You may be unable to play for a bit until then.
As a workaround, plugging your laptop into an external display seems to work for most people. Once the game has started, you can unplug that display and go back to playing on your laptop screen.

Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
I apologize for the relay in the response to your question. As VanGoghComplex said, the crash could have been caused by the FPS cap that was put in place. The cap has been lifted though. Are you still experiencing this crash? '
