How do unlock gathering in Shadowbringers?

I’ve opened all quests in Crystarium but when I switch to Miner or Botanist, I can find no nodes to gather from. All I can do is fish.

What am I missing?

Are you still 70 or 71? Usually you have to reach level x1 in order to see new nodes, I think.

Ah, still 70 on them so that could be why. Back to Leves it is then

Yeah it's kind of silly that it works that way. I think it works similarly with later level groups, like you'll have to be 76 to see the next set of nodes.

Ah, it’s working now. Node lit up in Norvrandt. Must have just been in the wrong zone

I was able to gather at 70, but have only ever found nodes in Amh Araeng.

Edit: at 71 I could see L75 nodes.

The only nodes I’ve found so far that can be accessed at level 70 have been ephemeral nodes. One for mining, one for botany.

Now that I know when and where they are, I’m going to be hitting them up a LOT for my miner and botanist.

In Stormblood you could mine & gather one set of 4 nodes each in the Fringes at 60. I remember this explicitly, because it's what I spent my time doing while blocked by Raubahn's Wall.

So far in ShB I've not found a single node I can harvest at 70, other than fishing - which can only fish freshwater so far, but seemingly multiple places with that. It's a jarring disparity. :/

I had no problems gathering in the new zones aside from finding the nodes at first. Make sure you do the levequests, 4-5 of them will get you to 71.

I have only found regular nodes, as I said in Amh Araeng.

Edit: At 71 you can see L75 nodes and even timed ones.
