Idea for a New Healer: Songstress (FFX-2)

Now that Dancer is out (sort of) and since it's not a healer I figured I'd offer up an idea for a potential healer in the future.

Normally I'd say Chemist because, let's face it, we've all wanted to chuck items at our party member's heads at some point, but I really can't see a way to utilize it effectively.

Enter the Songstress from Final Fantasy X-2. It's already a buff/debuff class so I would imagine that slapping on a healing utility wouldn't be too far out of range. The only problem I could see is what their attacks would be. Maybe they could attack with soundwaves or (on a less serious note) they could have a bodyguard as something like a pet to fight for them.

We've already got Bards to play music and Dancers to bring the music to life, so let's get some vocals in here to give the music some emotion.

We already have a singer class: it's called BRD (yes I know they spend more time shooting arrows into things and twanging that damn harp but they do more than just play a musical instrument, they also sing along to their music as well, well, lore wise at least they do. ;)).

Would i be right in thinking the Songstress sings a song all the time which buffs everyone or in a healer case keeps healing everyone or a single target continuously? Could work a static healer that sings a song maybe have them keep tapping notes as their skills in order to keep healing people so to make it interesting.

I feel like (and hope) that if we get another healer it will probably be the Geomancer, since it's a big part of the Astro storyline and had an interesting, characterising mechanic with the whole "what terrain are you standing on" thing. Also, White mage seems to be moving away from it's earth/water/wind schtick now and is becoming much more "holy" in its aesthetic so I think that might be Yoshi-P's way of slowly changing the WHM's identity so that it doesn't feel too similar to Geomancer? Idk this is just me speculating.

I know that, thematically, BRDs sing with their music, but they're only shown using their instruments in the actual game.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Something like a combo NIN/DNC is where you chain together notes to make different buffs.

I do want to see Geomancers make their MMO debut, but I couldn't see how they would work with the terrain mechanic seeing as the battlefield is constantly moving around. If they made them with basic elemental attacks then they would just be another BLM.

I would really, really appreciate a job like this. A music-themed healer is sorely missed, especially after DNC.
