Question for fellow DRK's who have played its new Shb iteration.

Hey guys, haven't got to play Shb yet, but I'm just so curious about something concerning my main class (DRK).

How is its overall MP regen now? I loved how much MP Syphon Strike used to give along with Quietus, Sole Survivor, and Delirium. However, all of these things have either been heavily tweaked or outright removed (Seriously, Sole Survivor's removal still annoys me greatly). So, I'm a bit worried. I like being able to pop TBN basically every time it's up with no problem, and with SB DRK I was able to do that. Really hope I'm not gonna constantly be running dry now...

Also, how do you guys think Shb DRK compares to SB and HW DRK now that you've got a chance to personally experience it?

I've got good and bad news for you:

The bad is that Syphon Strike, Blood Weapon (Per GCD, mind you, not per hit or on oGCDs), Carve and Spit all give 600 MP - meaning that you definitely won't be able to use TBN whenever, all MP skills cost 3k MP, I bet you get where this is going. You're right to be worried, because DRK right now is downright boring to play, not to mention it plays like a worse WAR. Everyone is pretty annoyed with those changes, so you won't be alone in this. And to make a comparison with SB and HW - the ShB version is basicly taking SB DRK, taking away the fun parts about it, nerfing it, mixing it wit WAR 4.0 for good measures and here you go; ShB DRK. It has nothing in common with HW, unfortunately.

The good news; PLD and GNB are pretty fun. GNB especially.

Unbelievable.

saddly yeah, the job itself it's not bad per se but it's no longer the DRK we love, mostly slow and boring, delirium ofering something that don't fit the job at all. i will say try it, you don't need SHB for it since the job doesn't change at all betwen lvl 70 to 80 in single target since edge and flood are just potency upgrades and living shadow just sustitute a bloodspiller and adds nothing more that pure dot damage.

They all kept saying "don't worry and play it first". Well... it's exactly as I assumed, I activate a quest to kill something, I use delirium, I mash my 7 key 12 times and its over. Aside from that, spending MP feels bad, I feel worried to even attempt to use TBN. As I said, it's pretty much lost any identity it had being it's own.

No it does not play worse than war, no it was not nerfed and no not everyone is annoyed there are a ton of people in game who are currently playing drk.
No they did not mixed it with war 4.0, you are probably reffering to delirium, but its like saying all tanks have a dash so they are the same. If the fun part of drk was to spam a buff for 140 potency to prevent mp from hitting the max then its a really low fun standards.
The only thing that got a nerf is salted earth because drk is already overloaded with aoe dmg.

Drk is more effective and could land a better punch and burst dmg than ever before, almost like a dps. It is slower for a over minute fight, but still nowhere near the war slowness. Its faster than 4.0 PLD that is for sure.

it's almost as if a majority of folks that played it competantly and/or enjoyed it in SB to a degree were better off assessing its changes in 5.0 that folks who saw "ooh posterboy new shiny oooh"

I'm sorry but I need to refer to your claim about how Salted Earth is the only skill that was nerfed, that's just plain false.

Off the top of my head, here are all the skills that were nerfed in Shb:

Blood Weapon
Dark Mind
Sole Survivor was outright removed
Delirium
Quietus
Syphon Strike
Salted Earth

My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.

I logged in, hit a dummy for a few mins, then went and unlocked gunbreaker and I'm having a blast (heh). Class is way more boring and slow now imo which is not what i played DRK for.
