This is now not possible at all after the update.
I am wearing the gear provided from the prior quests and an synced to the max level but I can't do it.
Because my summon can't get agro they both attack me and I can't heal fast enough to not immediately die.
Also they both heal themselves so I can't deal enough damage to make any difference to their HP so I eventually runout of MP despite using my CD's.
I am open to suggestions about how to do this but I can't survive for more than 30 seconds.
I feel the same way. I do not like that my titan-egi does not have enmity anymore. I do feel like I am just a regular mage now and I do not like it. I like the changes with the aetherflow and so on. I just don't like the enmity elimination from the egi. I have had to run around many times to avoid melee and that was not the reason I played an SMN. I played it because I can sit back and view the battlefield and micromanage my egi to pull that enemy and the other and go all in. Now, I cannot do that. I feel like the essence of the SMN that I have personally grown to love is gone. Plus, with SMN being a more active job, my carpal tunnel in my hands are not liking it. Once again, I have to make a decision to continue to play SMN or move to another job. Right now, I have to move to another combat job.
They are much more likely to change the encounter than to give SMN their Personal Tank bank.
Sleep as a role skill probably wouldn't hurt.
