Locking up the game with Ifrit

So I was helping a level 25 LS mate with the level 25 Ifrit battle (me being a level 50 MNK). While he was watching the cutscene I decided to get a head start and fight Ifrit. Well I ended up killing Ifrit before the cutscene even ended. What resulted was that the game showed us the victory screen, but then just left us in limbo. It didn't teleport us back to Gridania and, instead, we were just stuck unable to move or open the main menu infront of Ifrit's corpse. The only way out was to manually close the game.
