If you are looking to join an FC or an FC officer looking at potential recruits, what do you look for?
Sure, active in your time zone and friendly, but what else? What makes an FC great for you?

I like ending up with people that talks a lot, with a sense of humor similar to mine, and a drama-free space. I don't go in FCs much anymore because, well, it's hard to find. There's always drama (and yeah that's fine but the last one I went in they just talked about said drama right in the FC chat and it wasn't interesting nor pleasant, especially since it was about old members that weren't there anymore so it felt weird and uncomfortable) but there's a way to handle it. The main thing for me really is having cheerful members, with talkative people and a good laugh once in a while :)
Fun people with whom to do fun stuff, rather than... unfun people with whom to do at most unfun things?
Shared interests, shared humor, shared values, shared familiarity, shared history, and shared respect are good correlatives to that, but ultimately it just comes down to the first part.
As someone who recently changed to their third FC...
I agree with the other posts - fun and pleasant, no-drama.
Some things that were important to me:
* I got a personal invite ( and I was in the middle of nowhere). Didn't join based on a shout out.
* FC has a house and workshop.
* The members have purchased and decorated rooms in the house.
* FC members hang out at the house as a gathering point.
* We help each other. It's nice to be able to gather 8 people for maps, raid, etc.
* people are on-line when i am. You can get "good" advice.
* secondary issues: discord, FC buffs.
That said there is a personal aspect here as to what YOUR goals are. FC can have a Raid focus or crafting focus or ...
Like most people here, what I am looking for in a fc is activity (chat and doing things together.) Laid back etc. I been lucky enough to still be in the first fc I joined back in 2016 when I came back to the game.
When I am recruiting I will ask the person questions and get them talking about themselves and what they like to do in game, and I will talk about my self and about the FC. Normally by the end of the conversation both sides get a felling if there is a match or not. I have to talk to the person before an invite goes out, I don't even accept applications that come in till I talk to the person.
Yeah and it always comes across to me at least like they only care about the number and not about the people.
Yeah, one of my pet peeves is someone sending a blunt invite just because they noticed I don't have a FC yet. No whisper or what, nothing, just boom, invite to the FC. It dosen't feel welcoming. It feels like they are picking up what's left lmao.
Or getting a whisper (with a copy-pasted shout message) asking you to join the FC.
The only FCs I joined was when I got personally asked if I was interested. Then I'd ask a few questions and see for myself if it sounds good :)
Essentially one that just isn't dead and isn't full of people who feel overly elitist. Other than that, it can be anything really. I love the guild i'm in.
