FF XIV Game hard-freezes my entire PC

Good Day everyone,

since a couple weeks now ( 2 - 3 weeks ) my game randomly crashes/freezes and I cannot do anything on the desktop anymore.

The only solution right now is to hard reset my PC by holding down the Power Button.

I checked my heat temperatures and they are not even close to being too high so I wonder causes this severe crash.

I tried toning down some of the graphical settings (also tried to switch to Direct X 9) but so far I could not find any solution to this issue at all.

The crashes have become so frequent that they happen every 10 - 15 mins which really makes it unplayable.

Has anyone encountered the same or similair issues?

My Spec :

Intel® Core™ i5-6500 Prozessor

nvidia GTX 1070

16 GB of RAM



I have not tempered with the games ini. settings so far.

How are you checking your temps? You checked your RAM, CPU and Video card?
Have you checked for driver corruption/errors? I assume everything is updated?
Does this only happen with FFXIV, and from the time of log in how long till your PC freezes?

I used GPU Temp and CPUID HWMonitor to check for temps and checked all 3 components if they overheat anywhere but they are all withing the their normal range.

My graphic drivers are all updated. I do not receive an error message/script that I could check since the crash/freeze makes my entire PC stop working.

I played other graphicly intense games and so far I only have this issue with FF XIV.


I think the average time is 15 mins and my game freezes entirely.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Have any updates (optional or mandatory) or changes been made to the PC? When the game crashes, are any other programs running in the background? Where in game does the crash occur? Could you also provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'
