Game keeps crashing, seems to be linked to new MSQ story gear?

I used to be an avid player of the game, probably logging in over 2000 hours in a year alone while working full time, I quit sometime around December, and decided to start playing again with my boyfriend this month. However, every time I load into a major city, I crash, making the game unplayable.

Originally, I figured it was my drivers, as it seemed to be related to DX11-- I also launched in DX9, received the same error and crashed. I attempted updating drivers AND running the game on integrated graphics instead of nvidia drivers. Still crashing. I was at a loss, so I went to my main account and went to some underpopulated Heavensward areas with some friends, no issues until I tried examining my friend's gear after she had changed into the MSQ gear. It came up as blank, this was the only gear that was doing it. I'm completely fine until I run into a player wearing the new gear.

The numbers seem to change on every crash. I really think it's something to do with the new MSQ gear files being corrupted on my end, but am unsure, and am trying my best to avoid a reinstall due to limited GBs of internet. If there's an option to somehow go into the game files and copy+paste the corrupted files with correct ones, I'd appreciate it.

Is there an error message that appears win the game crashes? Also could you try disabling any overlays and do a cleanboot? Open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

Yeah, I listed one of the error messages that appear when the game crashes in the original post. I'm going to attempt a cleanboot right now.

try to boot from external usb media drive to check your ram with memtest86+, maybe its damaged.
did you try reinstall the whole game?
disable all overlays (steam, discord etc)

I would suggest a reinstall as well, make sure to remove the locally-saved data folder out of 'My Documents'. This can be contributing to the error as well and can be moved back if it does not resolve the issue. This folder is located in My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV.
