Can't debit now ShB Collector Edition - Square Enix Store

Good morning everyone,


I'm going to the point. Square Enix sent me an email saying that they can not charge my physical Collector Edition of Shadowbringers (PS4). So I used the Debit now option but it led me to an error again and again.

After this I tried to update the payment method and when I put my credit card comes an Error 2 = FRAUD, I contacted my bank in case they had blocked the card just in case and everything is normal. Now I am in the situation that I have no way to pay ... If I want to update the payment error, if I want Debit now error too.

I have sent a ticket but I am afraid that before the answer my payment term will end.

I'm quite desperate and I can not find any solution.

Please accept any kind of suggestion,

Hello, I am also having the same issue as you do. I got mailed last night that they failed to bill me for some reason and when I tried to change the payment method, the same error you mentioned happened to me. Sadly, there was no other option than just contacting the support and waiting.

Contacted support and get a generic automated answer that has nothing to do with my problem...

I guess I'm going to lose the CE at this point. As a curiosity on my credit card the payment appears as pending by Square Enix to accept it.

Edit 1: (UPDATE) The charge now appears at my credit card, but in the store the game status still PRE-ORDER

I haven't got an answer yet, only got mailed that they received my request. My order is still not cancelled though as shown in the store.

I’m having the same issue. I got an email saying they tried several times to process my card but couldn’t so hey went ahead and cancelled my pre order. I tried to go in and edit my card to make sure it was right. Couldn’t edit it. So I deleted it thinking I’ll just add it again. No option to add a payment method anywhere. Wtf. So I decide to pay for it via PayPal and it refuses to let me saying it’s canceling my order. Maybe because now I don’t have a credit card on file? Which I can’t add. I got sneaky and tried to buy something cheap off the store to add my cc info and they still don’t like my card.

What a shit show. I can’t even throw my money at these people. Maybe I can try to put cash in an envelope along with a nice card and flowers and they’ll accept it then.

I have contacted support but I got that cookie cutter response. Until then I wait with money in hand.

If you use PayPal you can typically avoid these kinds of errors since PayPal does a better job of recognizing your payment information usually and third party store fronts like scalefast generally accept PayPal more readily than they would a bank card.

As you can see for OP and in my case PayPal is also not working. I have the option to use PayPal but when I use it, it shunts me back to the square Enix store giving me a message about cancelling the action. Very frustrating.

Yeah I do notice that the square-enix store has very strange security measures on it. For me personally I get a suspicious login email every time I log in to their website and have to reset my password. I use the same PC and IP address usually as well so no idea why that happens.

Cancel your order and use Amazon instead.

Seriously, Square Enix needs to fix their billing systems. I'm still convinced that they're skeptical about the fact that we actually want to buy things from them.
