I have recently returned to this awesome game and wanted to play with my WoW guild. They have all decided to give FF14 a try and i am super excited to get them in the game with me... unfortunately Mateus, the server i play on is not allowing new players. Threads i have checked tell me to kept an eye on the server status but it has been red for 3 days and all my friends are giving up on the game... please does anyone know a way to get my friends on my server.
I would try early morning when less people are on. Like 8am est-ish.
I have checked regularly and it never is available :( and my friends and i are never on at that time
you're going to have to probably set your alarm to get up in the middle of the night.
Isn't that kind of stupid... we didn't realize it was going to be so much work...
The only real alternatives to trying at slow times of day are creating their characters elsewhere and then doing a paid transfer to Mateus, or else choosing a less crowded server for all of you to gather on. In the later case, you'd need to decide whether to transfer your own current main character there or to start a new alt. (If your friends are new and still at the game's starting point, a fresh alt who could be going through the early game with them might not be a bad idea anyway.)
Yea.. All those options kinda suck :( oh well, one of my friends got on atleast! the others gave up... oh well... guess i should have posted sooner

Apparently, the reason for blocking character creation when lots of people are online is to encourage people to play on less crowded servers, but when people are coming here hoping to play with their friends, it too often leads to them just giving up instead.
Well, hope you and your friend who did manage to get onto Mateus enjoy the game together at least.
i just hope he sticks... we are a guild from WoW so we usually play together... everyone else download ESO today so idk. Oh well, i played ff14 by myself before anyway XD
World Visits are a thing, tho. As long as everyone's on the same data center, it wouldn't have posed much of a hindrance to just get characters in on any world, and just hop over to play together.
