Warrior isn't being treated fairly and is losing its identity - please give back HP.

The tanks are being homogenized in strange ways. For example, all three tanks besides warrior get a two charge, no cost, higher potency gap closer. Warrior pays for its gap closer with gauge and also has a lower potency. Why would something that actually costs resources be lower potency?

The Warrior is supposed to be the buffer tank with more HP than the others and its tank passive should reflect that. Higher HP like it had before without the 20% mitigation but the ability to proc 20% mitigation through an ability (in this case it looks like Raw Intuition).

I feel like we're benching warrior this patch unfairly. It needs to have higher potencies for its "pay for it" gap closer and its superior HP back.

Why are we going to repeat the mistakes of the past?

there is no unfair, WAR is one of the tanks that his identity is being reforced with the expansion, onslaught have 100p bcs thats the potency of 20 gauge and make onslaught DPS neutral, you want o use it or not it won't cost you dps so don't take it as a flaw since i'ts not, compared to the other tanks that want to use they gap closer to gain dps and need a charge to keep the technical use of the gap closer aviable, something that WAR don't need at all.

apart dps discrepancys are not based to a single skill, if onslaught have less potency doesn't translate WAR will be the worse on terms of dps bcs of that, the entire kit together counts more that 1 skill.

WAR theme has been hitting harder that anyone and being a madman and his gameplay reflect that, the HP buffer despite being removed from his tank stance is still present with thrill of battle so they don't loose that part of his identity.

That's just what happens if you really want balance. But what irks me is they're going to homogenize some aspects, but then leave something like Onslaught as is? Be consistent and make it the same.

But they're giving some of the flavor back with Nascent flash which is sorta a mini Bloodbath. I wish they would just call it Bloodbath and rename the DPS role action as something else.

I'm actually okay with Wars in 5.0 for the most part, except for Onslaught which seems like something they forgot about.

Hm. So WAR is being treated unfairly because in this particular situation, because it doesn't have an advantage over the other tanks. I suppose if you use that peculiar brand of 'reasoning', most of SE's tank balance decisions to date make sense.

I never understand these whole "identity" thingy at all, if it's flavor of the job, we attack with brute force that is enough for me. If it's what make WAR special then we will have balance complaining again.

A lot of warriors never used the tank stance that gave them that HP anyway.

They are still health-centric because they have Thrill of Battle that increases their maximum health. Storm's Path and Nascent Flash restore health from their beastly, enraged attacks. They've made sure to respect its identity even in its new utility.

If warrior is always going to be made the highest DPS tank, it can probably live with paying for its gap closer. Is it really paying for it though? How much DPS do they lose if they run to it?

Not that I think utility and damage should ever be linked.

Absolutely, but you forgot about another awful change to WAR's hp-tank identity! How come Upheaval's potency no longer drops at lower hp? This should be reverted back immediately! If anything, they should make Fell Cleave hp-dependent as well, to further expand on the identity of the job.

I mean you might as well. All of dark knight's unique characteristics already belong to warrior anyway. Just change fell cleave to soul eater while you are at it.

That's fine. After all, the DRK job gets deleted in SHB, in favor of WAR's new great sword spec.

That and also replace gauge cost for Onslaught with hp cost, so you can use more hp-scaling Fell Cleaves. I think we're onto something there!

Based on your post history I have to wonder if you aren't just trying to stir things up...
