The Devs really need to change how housing works.

I mean they really need to.

1. Add a timer for when a plot is ready to sell, this waiting game is honestly driving people away.
2. Make it so people can only hold 1 FC house and 1 Private home.
3. People should only be able to relocate so many time before a cooldown goes off, far too many times I have seen trolls snag houses after hours of waiting.

Doing this would really help the housing market. People selling a single house is fine but someone owning multiple houses just to sell off a small plot for 50-40mil is ridicules.

As much as I enjoy the open neighborhoods, instanced housing is the solution

that is a solution too. I am jut tired of this waiting game and people being land sharks.

1: They said no.
2: That's how it worked for 2 weeks and I'm guessing it caused more problems because they removed FC ownership restrictions.
3: There's already a relocation timer.

Bonus: What would really help housing is bring the prices back to 2.1 era. Period.

These things already exist. You can't own more than 1 private or 1 FC house since they added Shirogane.
There is about a 5 min waiting time between relocation. I doubt anyone is spending millions to troll-relocate, and if they are, it's their own gil-sink and the number of houses isn't going down. They'll run out of gil eventually, it's like 3m min to relocate.

It's currently 1 private house, up to 8 FC houses per world per account. SE's info page was never updated.

I literally had a person relocate 6 times. within the 15 hours I was trying to get a house.

You can own more than 1 FC house. There's multiple different servers where it's a whole ward of 2-4 person FC houses. I've seen it in Mateus, Gilgamesh, Louisoux, etc. And no, they're not "grandfathered" in, they can keep making alts to level FCs and buy FC houses up to the limit in character creator. Also yes, there's people that troll relocate. Someone on the forums was talking about doing that a month ago because they said they were at Gil cap so they just like to reset timers for first time buyers. Relocating to smalls is only 3m or so, that's nothing to someone with hundreds of millions.

Those were most likely purchased before the one FC house restriction was placed. Plus people found a way around it by making multiple FC’s with similar names
