It would be cool to have a 'hand out' interaction instead of trading

I'm the CUL in my friend group, and I like to make everyone food for important duties we end up doing. So I'm sure you understand how tedious it is to trade to each person one by one.

It would be fun to just set myself to just hand out the item and everyone just comes and takes one. Like in Guild Wars 2 where you can place food items for anyone to come pick up, but a little less silly (who puts food on the floor?), and obviously there's a finite amount.

Or if you're one of those people playing some kind of game then anyone who wins can just get the prize from you and you don't have to trade each time.

Obviously there could be restrictions, like to only give out x amount or only to party members, etc.

so similiar to feasts in WoW where you use increased materials to create a platter on a cart or table that you set down that let's your entire party/raid use it at all at once for a food buff? Yes please.

Yeah exactly. That sounds identical to the thing in GW2 that I mentioned, so I guess it's fairly common.

Though I do like the idea of just holding out a plate/box/whatever and having everyone come over. Like I'm giving my kids their lunches or something.
