FFXIV Preorder

Hey folks, just a question really.
If, for whatever reason, SQE is having processing errors and not properly taking the money from the card i signed up with on my preorder information, and i can't get that fixed (for sake of argument), what happens?

Do i just ride out whatever processing errors they give me, and buy the game normally afterwards and pair it to my account; or does something happen with my game account? If anybody has any experience with this, i'd love to get some advice.

I think if SE can't process the order it simply gets cancelled. To keep me from having to deal with that potential setback I paid for it manually through the "Debit Now" option a few days ago. I had that happen with my sub a couple months back so I'm a bit paranoid. Thankfully all it took was me renewing my sub manually, and I didn't have the issue the following month, but better safe than sorry imo.

From the email I have received, they will attempt 4 times to charge if there is a error or insufficient funds on the payment method of choice. After the 4th attempt, the order will get cancelled.

1st attempt: 10/06/2019
2nd attempt: 12/06/2019
3rd attempt: 14/06/2019
4th attempt: 17/06/2019

So, if they don't get their act together and actually charge my account properly.. it won't be a really big setback? I'll be able to just go and repurchase the expansion if/when they cancel the preorder and it'll be all well and good?

Depends on what version of the game you got. If you got the physical CE then you might be out of luck for awhile. If you got the regular version (or digital CE) then you'll probably be fine. I'm not sure though how they handle early access codes that have already been given out.

I just got (or attempted to get) the basic digital version... I mean, i'll probably lose access to the early access but hopefully if they don't fix the issue that's not letting me pay for something (or letting me update the information) i'll just buy it immediately afterwards.
Honestly, i'm not worried about not getting in a week early.. i was just worried about some rule or company response that would hurt my actual account if they kept refusing to take my money (and i don't wanna risk double paying like i heard some people ended up doing during SB's preorder fiasco).
I tell ya though, i'd love to be able to just purchase the game through Crysta.. i at least know THAT payment method works.

Yeah. I get why you're concerned. I don't think they take any action against your account. Now, if you were to purchase it and have it refunded they might ban you. But I don't think they punish anyone for a payment not going through. They just cancel the order and that's that.

I have an unrelated pre-order question. Do you still get to bonuses if you pre-order now? Or is it too late for that?

You should be able to get the bonuses. I'm sure the only point in time that you can't get them is on the 2nd of July and after.
