Couple simple questions..

Hate to ask such simple questions but can't seem to find exact, up to date answers.

What level can someone quest for a chocobo, I think it's chocobo whistle?

What level can someone start quests/join a grand company?

Company you can join at level 20, Choco requires I think, to Rent is also level 20 also but also you need 3k Seals to buy one (which has no level limit on usage) which means completing a lot of the company quests.

Alternatively in the mean time you can get a Goobbue for free at 30 without doing anything.

You don't quest for a chocobo, you purchase it with GC seals once you are officially inducted into a Grand Company. When you can start a quest depends on the quest; some are available at level 1. You can become a GC recruit and do the first GC quests at level 22, but official admittance as a Private Third Class (required in order to purchase your chocobo) will require level 25. You may rent a chocobo from the rent person in each major city once you level any class to 10, no quest or other requirement imposed. Your current class doesn't have to be 10 as long as you have a class that is.

One is related to the other.

First you join a grand company. Then you earn seals and you can buy a license to ride a chocobo.

So your first focus should be to find a company you like and join them. I think I was around level 20 or 25 or so when I finally found a company I liked and joined up with them.

The nice man at the adventurer's guild who keeps sending me off to do things for him finally told me to go Ul'dah, so that is when my journey into the grand companies finally began.

The first poster was incorrect. You will need to be 22 before the GC NPCs will talk to you. You will need to be 25 before you can become a Private Third Class and buy your chocobo.

Dont forget that you get a Gobuee mount for free at lvl 30 if you didnt know.

I knew that Goobue mounts were free but I didn't know they was still possible to get, I thought it was a limited thing. Could someone tell me how you go about getting one so I know when I reach level 30? Plus I have a friend that plays with me who will probably reach 30 before me XD
