[DRG] Litany nerf ?

I quite dont understand the thinking behind the litany nerf for drg.

Removing piercing was a good idea, but if drg personal dps stays in the very bottom tier as it is atm, I have my concerns.

For a 3mns CD buff, 10% crit rate feels really weak when you compare to others jobs (battle voice, saber dance etc.)

Only 'utility' left being Dragon Sight, which feels weak too ('only' 5% for your tethered partner, for a 2mns CD.. )

Most of Dragoon 'utility' came from piercing and I really think it was a good idea to remove it for our beloved ranged.
But yet, I quite dont get why it was needed to nerf his main raid buff ability. Especially looking at other melees set, drg looks like he's gonna stay in the bottom of pdps rankings, and I doubt now litany+sight can now catch up with this dps loss. I'd already doubt it with the current litany, that's why I dont understand this nerf.

Why was the BRD song-AOE crit buff removed?
Why did Straight Shot get removed completely?
Why was Chain Strategem reduced (also from 15 to 10, like Litany)?

I think they just didn't like how high you could buff crit rate.


Alternate answer: These values are still in the tweaking phase. It may not stay that way.

Bottom of the pDPS? Well it will never beat MNK and SAM, it's just not built that way. It was always ahead of NIN, so I dont see that changing anytime soon.
Any class that had big party buffs were brought down. Chain Strat was reduce, Hypercharge was changed, and Foes was removed, so it's not as though other classes are not falling back either.
I think DRG will be in the exact same place it is among the melee, tho it does seem as its AoE will be nutz compared to the other jobs.

Did I miss something while I slept last night? Did SE put out an announcement that all tool tips and potencies are final or some crap? What is with this today. Good lord, but here just to make sure that it's crystal clear we'll do this one word at a time.

Development. Build. No. Potencies. Or. Effects. Are. Final. Please. Take. All. Potencies. Effects. Cooldown. Timers. With. A. Grain. Of. Salt.

TL : DR quit freaking out over nothing! Come here during the live 5.0 patch note reading and then freak out because that's when things are finalized. Or christ play the expansion first before you start complaining they nerfed anything!

But BRD got battle voice buffed, which is easily comparable to Litany who got nerfed. Battle voice got buffed 5% up, dragoon 5% down. Which is what I dont get.
Straight shot is.. a personal buff ? Am talking about raid buff here so not sure what you meant here.
About chain stratagem I mostly think it comes down to the overall healer role being 'reworked'. But I see what you mean here, though I here talk more about litany and drg raid buffs specifically.

Im starting to get tired of ppl with such discourse. Am not freaking out. (In fact you seem more freaked out than anyone else here lol) I'm expressing an opinion towards what's possibly going to be released, so that SE could *possibly* see about this. That's pretty much the purpose of having official forums while they give us the list of every job abilities/potencies. So that the community could possibly have a word about balancing and w/e job opinions. Hecc, SE even encourage this.

(And tbh, I HIGHLY doubt we will see any changes before 5.1 looking at how things were handled precedent expacs. Job balance after launch was always close to garbage tbh. But heh, we can still hope.)

NIN is above drg in terms of personal dps overall for Alphascape. And with piercing removed, NIN Trick Attack every minute raid utility is just waaaayy over litany/sight.

Battle Voice is Direct Hit, which has less impact than Critical Hit (right? I could be wrong...). 20% Dhit is probably roughly in-line with 10% crit.

I mentioned Straight Shot because I was just trying to think of all the crit buffs, regardless of whether they're raid-wide or not. I think they took away Monk's Internal Release completely too, which is why I suspect they just didn't like how high you could get your crit rate.
