Subscription fee confusion

Now while I am not really a new player I wasn't able to find the place this should be posted and I really need an explanation regarding it.

I have been trying to talk my mom into letting me use her credit card to be able to continue to play FFXIV for the last few days now and today it seemed like she was finally giving in and going to let me. However when we got the subscription payment screen we both got a big shock at the prices.
Now we got the shock because up to that point I had been showing her this page: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/product/ and the fees listed here. However when we got to the mogstation sub fee section the price for 180 days took a huge leap to 77.94$ and that was the on sale price.

As you can see the two sites seem to conflict with one and other over the price and the one saids 12.99 for 180 days and the other saids 77.94 for 180 days. What is going on here? I'm so confused.

You misread things.
It says that the cost per month is $12.99 for the 180 day (6 month) subscription.
6*12.99 = 77.94

Ah, well then. I feel pretty stupid right now. Guess I'll have to rethink how to approach this with my mom now that I know my mistake.

The column is clearly marked "Monthly Price". People just need to know how to read a table of data.

If she doesnt like the credit card idea, a game-time card might work. You dont get the discounted rate for buying multiple months at once, but you also dont put your credit card into an auto-renew setup either. Something like this.
