SCH has it's load of issues, thankfully the healing kit is not one of them.
Among what is left there are two things that stand out and that I feel most SCH would be satisfied with.
1) Currently with the 5.0 information we have, SCH no longer has an aetherstack dump with ED. This becomes a real issue for several reasons.
The first obvious reason is that we have new tools to avoid using stacks, and dissipation has had a very useful rework in order to gain more stacks. But with that we're looking at spending 6 stacks in 60 seconds. Considering indom/sacredsoil are on a 30s timer and excog is on a 45s timer we're already dealing with a time crunch. Also I don't think even current Ultimate would require that much healing from a single person, let alone regular content 80% of the playerbase goes through. It's important for SCH to have a stack dump in order to optimize their play and not waste stacks overhealing or solo healing.
Second reason is that we need to fill our fairy gauge. If we've learned anything from lilies it's that people won't just throw heals out to fill in a gauge. We need to be able to use all these stacks without using random lustrates.
Third and final reason is that currently miasma II has been switched with AoW which is not a suitable weaving alternative. Ruin II has become the weaving skill but even then it isn't suitable for single weaving where clipping the gcd with Broil III is still better. The removal of many of our ogcd skills (cleric, ED, shadowflare) means that we will get fewer opportunities to double weave (even with fairy skills on ogcd). This will result in a lot of clipping and instances where we just wait for the GCD to come back after an instant GCD cast (Think Bio). This makes for very clunky gameplay and is something that WHM has had to deal with for so long and the community has been incredibly vocal about fixing. Having ED available would really make the SCH job flow better and Ruin II would have more weight as a weavable spell.
It's fine if ED doesn't restore mana, hopefully MP management is where it should be. But ED should be in the kit in some form or another.
2) Every other healer has a couple of options for AoE dps (holy + assize, star + gravity) but SCH is only stuck with AoW. This is going to be incredibly monotonous in dungeons. I believe the early testers and "influencers" have voiced this as well. It would be nice to get an ogcd option back here. It would make things more fun and also help with our weaving options.
I would prefere SF personally but if that creates single target balancing issues, make it bane or something new. Whatever it is this seems like an oversight and oversimplification of the SCH dps toolkit that needs correcting.
All of the above proposed changes would also do wonders for increasing the SCH skill cap that has suffered greatly with the 5.0 changes.
Healing toolkit looks good. RIP critlo deploy but what we have is still pretty good.

Why the actual healing changes for a healing class is apparently being put on the backburner by the community and focusing on it's abysmal dps kit seems incredibly backwards. Like ok, we get it. There isn't anything interesting about healers dps tools, yeah it sucks scholar lost it's aoe for dungeons. If we are going to critique the job can we at least critique it around what it's intended role is? I think SE is also at fault for this given how the game is designed in regards to healing vs damage.Quote:

As for whether this actually works out in the long run remains to be seen. DPSing and especially the DPS toolkit for healers is very important. On par with the healing toolkit to be honest. The reason for that is that even in ultimate you're DPSing about 80% of the time so it represents a huge chunk of your gaming experience. Besides we both know they will never ramp required healing up to that level.Quote:

Sure, good players will find great ways to optimize the toolkit but then you basically free up even more time to return to your broken DPS rotation. It's all very grim and quite frankly very disappointing considering everyone here were expecting them to fix this issue with WHM.. Not downgrade SCH to it.
And that's just the clunkiness. The fact we have less management as a whole is basically a huge downgrade in terms of optimization and fun for many. Basically these changes are good for the devs and players who aren't very good/experienced at/with healing. Others are left on the sidelines.
