I got some questions about new job changes

Bard lost refresh as a roll ability, am I no longer gonna be able to play it for healers/ magic casters to give em mp or is a move like it gonna be in my tool kit?

Warrior can't use innerbeast for big heals, am I screwed on solo'n stuff now?

Astro mp card didn't seem to mention mp anywhere on it anymore, am I screwed on giving me or others mp?, besides me using lucid for myself

Refresh is dead. However, healers and casters still have Lucid Dreaming, which is now on a 60 second recast timer. So I imagine that will compensate for the removal of Refresh. With Foe's also being removed, any sort of optimization with Refresh and your own MP pool is also gone.

The same will apply to AST - Lucid will be 21 seconds of Refresh at 80 potency on a 60-second recast. The loss of Ewer will hopefully not be as significant. Casters also have access to Lucid, so hopefully they will also be alright in terms of their MP pool.



I can't speak much on WAR. I'm not that well-versed in tanks.

Bard's refresh is mainly useful for Foe Requiem which they're removing. Shouldn't be needed to increase others' MP if they understand how to manage it themselves.

Sure, it's a little helpful if the entire party needs reviving, but we've honestly had too much reviving in Stormblood. Most of the party wiping was the end in Heavensward, but in Stormblood someone always has a res and Refresh actions to revive the entire party. It's been fun but doesn't help the "game is too easy" criticisms.

I didn't look at the AST changes but they said every card will increase DPS in some way.

I'm hoping Bard is still a support player and that dancer isn't getting all the support stuff

A lot of BRD's raid utility has been removed or changed.

We no longer provide MP/TP refresh (well, TP is dead but we no longer provide the latter).
Our songs no longer provide the ~2% Passive Crit buff.
We lost the +3% from Foe's.
We no longer have Palisade.

We still have Battle Voice - it will be +20% Direct Hit for 20 seconds every 180 seconds.
We still have Nature's Minne - however, it is now on a 90-second cooldown.
We still have Troubadour - it is now +10% mitigation every 120 seconds, as opposed to before where its effect changed based on our song (Troubadour Minuet was almost always preferred, so this is a welcome change in that we no longer have to be in "the right song" to use it).
We still have Warden's Paean for if you run into a cleansable debuff (unlikely in high-end content, but others probably).

We do still have our Silence. It may see a use in the Savage tiers to come.
We kept the Bind and the Heavy. I have no idea why, because outside of Eureka/PotD/HoH, they aren't that useful.
We did get knockback mitigation. So yay.


Personally, I think BRD still has some utility, but not as much as it did. So I think the utility shift did transfer to DNC based on everything I have seen about it thus far. We still have similar tools, but I think DNC now has a bit more than we do in terms of support and buffing.

Hm looking at the preview video, I didn't see anything about support abilities. The only ability looks like troubadour's it unless there was another skill that I'm forgetting.

Warriors got that one ability I can't remember the name of, the shield throwing ability also heals you.
