WHM still has no raid DPS buffs in 5.0

It has more healing yet again. Because this totally worked for the last 2 expacs?

...having essentially its own aetherflow for both instant single target and aoe heals is a big plus for mobility.

Think it'll be enough to overcome the desire for DPS buffs, though? I doubt it. Of all the ways to homogenize healers, and SE still doesn't seem to get why WHM isn't meta. So, back to another heavensward/stormblood cycle we go...

Edit: So a lot of people seem to be resorting to the old "If you're not in a world first group it doesn't matter." Technically, yes, I fully expect every raid including ultimates will be clearable without healer DPS buffs.

The problem, then, is raid leaders and DPS will want them anyways. Just to push their personal ranking or help their specific group meet that one DPS check, and so on. And unless SE decides to put trusts into savage/ultimate content, we still have to deal with them to raid. So... here we go again.

I'm absolutely livid about this. Get intelligent people for healer balance already! JFC...
But the absolut worst are the people who, once again, tell me to "wait and see". What am I supposed to wait for, a freaking miracle???

Clearly they don't know what they're doing with healers. SCH is now garbage too though, so all the crying-eye white mage players, grats on wrecking our job too.

Is that all you people can think about? Raid Buff Raid Buff Raid Buff, like that's the only bloody thing that matters?

They said that overall, they want to reduce the importance of raid buffs, and synergy between jobs so that more people feel more equal, even if you don't have said buffs. Not everybody needs to be a hybrid healer/support or dps/support, and in fact I think it's rather unhealthy to the game when we try to do that for everybody. Let AST have its little niche, as do the other two jobs.

Pretty much this. WHM is clearly getting a lot more focus on its own DPS.
AST on the other hand has suffered a great nerf. Cards now just give a flat 3% damage, and more of it's kit is just a copy of WHM or SCH, with even its new Horoscope system mimicing WHM's NEW Plenary Indulgence.

When one healer job is shunned out of the meta because it doesn't have any Raid Buff when the other two healer jobs do.

Then yes, it is the only thing that matters.

Like, that is the reason why AST was seen as "Better WHM" because it offers the same tools (Regens) as WHM but... Also had cards which provided rDPS boosts.

If WHM continues to be the ONLY Healer job that doesn't have an rDPS boost, then it will continue to be in the same situation.

Unless they're buffing WHM's pDPS to make up for its loss of rDPS brought by the other 2 healers (But then it'll create a situation where WHM is more punished for not maximizing time spent damaging and instead spent healing and thus be less wanted)

So far, all the healer changes have shown that they have literally no clue about what's been causing the imbalance within the role... When they're supposedly spending Stormblood AND Shadowbringers focusing on balancing Healers...

This is precisely WHY throwing around raid buffs like candy is a bad idea. They're nerfing raid buffs in 5.0, having/not having cards is going to be a far less importance in 5.0 because of how it is today.

You don't see this as a good thing? That they are nerfing AST cards, to bring AST closer to SCH and WHM?

When you get right down it it, Chain Stratagem has never been that big of a DPS boost. Nonetheless, it defines the meta.

I wouldn't blame it on the WHM community. This is a refinement of the same axing SCH initially got in 4.0. This time they remembered to at least leave it playable in dungeons though.

The new cards don't look that bad to me TBH. The big loss here is saving up cards towards a burst window as well as the potential need for feeding yourself MP by aligning cards and CDs (Big if on this one at this stage). The consistency should claw quite a bit back with a high uptime though. Not to mention the Redraw and Sleeve Draw changes should make it quite easy to get 3 seals long before divination is up meaning you'll also get a chunk of extra value out of minor arcana. I'm highly curious as to why Divination doesn't have a duration listed though.
