I just wonder if anyone else thinks a tame, domesticated Gobbue might not be bred to a smaller size.
And unrelated to lore, it would allow us to enjoy more of the wonderful view on our screens.
And yes I have zoomed all the way out.

From what I remember from the back story of the Goobbue mounts, they aren't actually domesticated so much as we learned how to make a wild Goobbue do what we want. I assume that is one of the reasons we don't get to name our Goobbue mount because, in theory, it could be a different wild Goobbue each time we summon and dismiss it.
But from a non-lore standpoint, some kind of adjustment to either the camera while riding or the size of the Goobbue could be nice.
Perhaps the big, monstrous goobbues are resistant to our magical horns, since we are, in fact, simply adventurers. Only Yosh--I MEAN, the Minstrel, who is well seasoned in the art of taming pet rocks, could call the full-sized ones? So we get the weaker versions. :]
Even if the camera were adjusted, I've always felt the size was an issue. Not that it's the end of the world, but have you ever been chocoing around a goobbuer while in a cave? If it's in front of you, it just looks silly (THE HEADLESS GOOBBUE!!!!!), and if it's behind you, you're running blind unless you switch to first-person.
I find your notion of humiliating the majestic Gobbue by making it smaller to be highly offensive.
Would be nice to have them slightly smaller but saying that even if they did adjust the size I'd still likely just keep using my Chocobo. The Gobbue mount was a cool little gift but I don't think they were ever really meant to replace the Chocobo mounts or they would have put more time into them. Besides I'd rather have the dev team focus on some of the more important fixes that need to sorted. We all know that the Gobbue mounts will ultimately become a small trinket to show that we were playing before 2.0 anyway.
Got a feeling this thread won't end well, despite good intentions ....
Baby Gobbues?
Pocket sized gobbues I could carry around and pull out and play with when waiting for a party?
Or use your chocobo.
still gotta scare the 2.0 newbs
