New to FFXIV - Looking for cursor & keybinding help

Refugee here. Really liking the game.
Playing a conjurer, atm, looking to go white mage.
I'm trying to use mouseover macros as much as possible b/c the trials and quests so far have not included the npc's with me in a group. I've looked into the playstyle of a healer in ffxiv, and it seems it's more coordinated w/ button pushing to select the target (which I wouldn't mind trying). I realize that there is a non-queueing delay with using macros (as compared to not using macros).
The problem I am having right now is w/ how small the cursor is and trying to find it so it goes over the target. I'm experimenting w/ the different cursor setups: in-game cursor is waaaaaay too small; tracking cursor is big, flashy, and easy to find, however, it laaaaaaaggggggs; the OS one is bigger than the in-game one, but it is still small. Any suggestions?


Also, I would very much like to bind at least 4 spells to my mouse-wheel. Is it possible to keybind zooming to other keys?

Mouseover targeting of models can be trying. It's usually better to mouseover stationary hud elements. For NPCs in duties, there are a couple things you can do.

A) Set the NPC as your focus target. Then you can mouseover the focus target hud element.
B) If the enemy is targeting the NPC, mouseover the target of target hud element.

That way, the hud elements are always in the same place, which will make it easier to move your mouse to them once you find it.



As for camera controls, you can bind keyboard zooms here:
/keybind
Movement tab
(Zoom Camera In / Previous Page) and (Zoom Camera Out / Next Page)

You can also make it so mouse wheel zoom requires a modifier key by checking the settings here:

Mouse Wheel Settings

You can try highlight potential targeting if it help, it will highlight yellow outline on target when you hover your mouse on them.
Not sure if it will accurate with mouseover macro tho since I don't use it.

Well, I couldn't bind the mouse wheel to any of the buttons on the hot bars. I was able to make good use of the sonar and highlight potential targets.

I personally adjusted Windows itself to make my cursor as large as possible (due to my high screen resolution) then told the game to use the OS cursor.
