A question to all WoW players coming to XIV

I've been watching youtubers like Sccottzone and Asmongold and the one thing I've noticed is both of their chats mention XIV is too cute for them. I get the anime thing as it is anime being all Final Fantasys are pretty much animes. But I didn't know people thought XIV was too cute to play. I also remember both of them saying ( their chats and SZ himself to Momo on a podcast ) That XIV is harder then wow mostly cause their bosses don't mix things up like a burn phase alone with the dance we have.

We talked about that last part tho but I just wanted to point out where I heard those thoughts, the main thing I wanna talk about is do people think XIV is too cute? And why they think so.. this is mainly for people who mainly played WoW. I'm only asking this as with how BFA is alot of WoW vets are coming to XIV and they are talking. Just wanna see if what they think about everything comparaing both games in terms of skill, art direction and stuff.

To me that's pretty rich coming from people who played WoW which has a very cartoony art style. I wouldn't say this game is "too cute" by any means, but I've heard people refer to it as an anime at points. To be honest though I can only really see that in places like the Hildebrand quests, otherwise it just looks like a JRPG but that has been FF since forever.

Perhaps the fact that half of the community is cat people and potatoes has something to do with it.

I know a couple of WoW players that didn't like FFXIV, since all the races looked like handsome anime characters. But they got interested after seeing Hrothgar.

Who cares what these youtubers think? I certainly don't.

They don't like the fact we're better looking than they are. Our glamours are fabulous and our characters look more realistic.

But there is something to be said about having a non human looking race to pick from, but that's pure opinion.

lol. Tho to be fair.. we ALL look anime. Cause SE art design is made in that style so it's not just miqos and popotoes. ( YES I'm defending my race choice. Fight me >:D ) (( I hope the joke works... ))

Can't speak for all of them obviously, but Asmon doesn't really have a agenda. He's just a die-hard WoW player and him and all his fans use the "weeb excuse" to pretty much write off FFXIV entirely. It's a incredibly short sighted and silly excuse to avoid a MMO entirely for that reason though.
