The implication was that adding younger looking races that looked more like people (and less like pears) would cause problems for them. And given the pearl-clutching that seems to be going on around here, yeah they're probably right.
Since Lalafells, Miqo'te, and Au'ra females have been around for quite some time now with no apparent ill effects, I'd say they're fine as they are.
Im not saying they should do it, but at the same time...imagine if they did give us the ability to play as Younger versions of the races?
Then they troll -certain people- by locking certain types of gear, and removing gear/making them naked results in the characters still fully clothed with a tshirt and sweatpants.
And they have a special Language Filter that stops any form of questionable talk.
Kidding overall, but think it would be funny
Why would they have to? "Young looking" is not the same as actual children which the letter was explicitly referring to.
Or in other words: Zhloe is a young adult (who looks like one, not the Dawson Casting kind), Khloe is an actual child. The differences and reasons for why we can play one but not the other should be obvious.
And Lalas, if anything, look like creepy dolls brought to life by forbidden magics from the darkest depths of the void. While real-life toddlers may occasionally come off as possessed by demons, that's where meaningful similarities end.
