Labeling party finder parties

I need some help to clear this up for me since a lot of party finders seem to be oddly labeling their parties descriptions.

Learning party = people are probably new and want to get mechanics down, or their on a different job and want to learn the fight with it.

Learning/clear party = group has a grasp on some mechanics and their working to get their clear, though have a basic understanding on how the fight works.

Clear party = Everyone knows mechanics and the fight but they just need the dps to get it cleared.

My problem here is that im encountering a lot of parties that label themselves as clear but are in fact a learning. When I tell the party leader that they should label it as a learning or a learning to clear, I’m told that I’m wrong. Suffice to say I was pretty confused and I need some clarification.

Trap party = not clearly identified but once you get in there, you regret even stepping in to the party.

I think not everyone would realise there's a difference between the two. Or maybe feel that "learning" suggests they're not actually trying to get to the end of the battle.

Well that’s why there is learning to clear, which is fine because of course we all need to learn at some point. I wasn’t aware that most wouldnt make the connection.

The solution? Make your own party or run the thing with your FC friends.

The PF, like the DF, is one of those places where you just roll the dice, especially if you are joining a party someone else put together. You don't get to join a party started by someone else and then lecture them on how to label their party. If you feel that strongly, then the answer is to make your own party and clearly label it so that you only play with other players that you deem acceptable.

Why does this conversation keep coming up when the solutions are so simple? You aren't going to effect change by complaining on the forums that a party you joined wasn't as good as you'd hoped.

I actually like helping people and my question was more so how to properly help those that want to gain a better chance to not have a party fall apart. Aka labeling their party finder better. I’m fully aware I can make my own party but not everyone knows I’m assuming so I’m just making clarification.

"Clear for a friend" party : the "friend" is actually the lone player who did launch the pf.

"High dps, high ilvl, quick clear" party : the player who did labelled the pf as such will be the worst of the lot, and will end up grey on fflogs.

"One mistake or one death = kick" party : except for the player who did set such rule, he is allowed to screw up and die as much as he want.

"Loot master, you get the drop in the order you have joined" party : at the first drop, when the leader will have his hands on his precious mount, he will disband the party.

The state of the matter is that most parties on PF are trap parties, because at the end of the day you're dealing with random people, which means that a clear party can very well be a clear party up until two or three less than stellar players join.

I once joined a O11S "Clear for a friend" party which was put together by a tank who I knew to not have a clear themselves, because I was their co-tank some hours before, but we both knew the fight up to enrage and had plenty of practice, so I asked to join him.

So us two tanks who didn't have a clear made a "Clear for a friend" party in which I was to be the friend, it filled up eventually and after 1-2 hours we gave up as we couldn't get a clear, only that us two without a clear didn't screw up even once.


I guess the conclusion is that it's not always the party leader's fault that the group is a trap...

Or that makes problems worse as few ppl are spread over more parties... smt its pointless to open your own if there are 5-8 needing tanks/heals/dps...

Don't forget Farm Party: everybody has cleared before AND can do the trial without dying (but mistakes can happen).
I have had trap farm parties where the party leader has somehow cleared, but knows no mech at all. (That dragoon party leader dead the whole time in that lootmaster Zurvan farm party, I remember you still -. - You were added to 7 BLs that day. )
